I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for six MLF Championships and won roughly a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

Thanks for answering my question on post frontal conditions. I basically answered my own question when I ask if you slow down or go reaction. I do both myself to see which generates the most bites. Not my first rodeo. I’ve been seriously bass fishing over 50 years and guided years ago. I think slow is usually better on non pressured waters and speed kills on highly pressured lakes like Fork. They’ve seen everything and don’t give them time to think about biting.

Hey Matt. Wanted to say thanks for this information on how to fish post frontal conditions that was easy to understand. Always heard some information out there from some other sources about this topic but guess it didn't seem to click for me until your explanation. This allowed me fish these sort of conditions during the prespawn this past weekend and finish 2nd place in my local club tournament. Again, thanks for the easy-to-understand way you explain things in your videos.

Thank you Matt, what recommendation do you have for lakes where the soil is soft, with mud and a lot of vegetation that gets tangled in the hooks, very typical here in Florida.

What would you throw in shallow submerged vegetation that grows up about 2 feet in 4 feet of water (post front)?

ANYWHERE but the throat or gills 😆. I've caught Giant's and good bags on post front... all it is .. is the fish eat so good pre front and get hammered to death. By post front they are beat up and full. Just my opinion

Matt: on the jig from for high pressure.....do you stick to a full-size jig or do you downsize to a finesse jig? I go back and forth...Sometimes I think a big meal will entice a bite....sometimes I think finesse jig is better.
@MattStefanFishing
@MattStefanFishing 3 жыл бұрын
I prefer more compact jigs in these conditions

I started with a 1/2 ounce and then adjust based on depth. Generally i go lighter as I get shallower and heavier as i go deeper

Gr8 vid as always@MattStefan.Me personally i cant stand post frontal if im targeting Latgeys.seems in my experience,Smallies&Spots are less affected by the post frontal,high pressure they feel in their swim bladder.The frittside 5 in chart/black back has been working for me & also i got a 4.6lb smally on a black/blue futbol hed jig with a ned tralier same color off the back of my buddies Nitro while he got skunked..Lol. Im 2 subs away from my 1st 100 so i wud b honored to have a big dog like you aboard.#BassFishingIsMyTherapy#U.S.A.BassAnglersKickA$$!!!
