Just wanted to leave a sincere Thank You! This video saved me a repair visit tonight. I heard something funny like a fan blades being tapped and thought to check out the back panel but nothing there. Found your video and took a chance at it and HOLY Moly all the ICE! just got it all defrosted and dried and put back together. I cant say it enough..... Thank You!

Thanks for the video, you saved me a service call that would have cost me $100's! I didn't have to replace the fan, just had to thaw out the giant block of ice that formed around it.

Swapping both motors will determine if a fan actually bad. If the problem follows the fan, its junk. Just did this repair Thanks!

Great video.. i have the same refrigerator with the same problem. Sears mentioned that they dont carry any parts for that model of fridge. Where did you purchase the fan motor and what is the part number. Thank you very much

How do you test if an Evap fan works? I’ve bought one at Amazon and they won’t start a few hours after replacement. I connected the freezer motor on both the fridge and freezer collector and both times it work but not the evaporator motor from Amzn on either (proving the circuit board still works).

There are two different fan. One for the refrigerator and one for the freezer, you could switch them around or you could use a 9v batteries.

If the Fan is 110 volts AC how do you make a turn with a 9volt DC Battery?

Oh I'm sorry, I accidently answer the to wrong question to the wrong person. The best way is to switch the two fan around. Both fan are identical. I also did trying testing on a 9volt battery and it does also work.@@ric7664

My evaporator motor had a visible expansion of the winding coil (overheat from a short). The motor for the LG lrbn 20512ww is very hard to find. LG, Sears, E-Bay, Amazon and several on-line parts sellers didn't have it. After a massive search I finally contacted an appliance repair shop in California and they had one gathering dust on a shelf in the back. It had cosmetic damage to the plastic but otherwise in good shape. When I installed it it didn't work so now I'm going to replace the refrigerator temperature sensor to see if that gets power to the motor. When searching for the motor just keep at it, you'll finally might find it at a shop called Joe Smith's Appliance Repair and Taxidermy in Monkeys Elbow, Mississippi. Or not.

@@jonmcdaniel8492 Some parts can be find at Sears.com and not Searspartdirect.com . Other time you can it listed at their part site listed at DIY Repair parts like Walmart and others. Even though they are available at their partner site but not at Sears because it is ship from different warehouse that's what I was told from a Sears rep.

I enjoyed you on the video. You showed every step from start to finish. Great Job. Now, I think I can do mine. I'm trying to repair mine myself. My refrigerator does exactly what yours were doing. I'm having trouble getting the part. I have a Kenmore French Door Refrigerator Model 111.73035910. So, I saw that you only replaced the evaporator fan on the icemaker side and did not replace the evaporator fan on the freezer panel. The ice was stuck on that side also not cooling to the top of the refrigerator. 😅 HELPSo I'm guessing I need to only change out the fan on the icemaker side. Where can I get the part from?
