This is my first video on youtube. I'm not a mechanic I just upload the works I do on my cars at home. This video will show you a step by step process on how to change a valve cover gasket on your mitsubishi lancer cj.

Did you use RTV gasket sealant along both of the gasket surfaces (head and valve cover)? Or did you just use the gasket only?
@diyness94425 жыл бұрын
I used the gasket only. The only place you need to apply a bit of gasket sealant is where your timing chain case meets the engine. Have a look at the diagram at 7:48. You only need to apply 4mm on both sides left and right

put a hole in my valve cover using the flathead and rubber mallet method to dislodge it.... the screwdriver went straight through the cloth and into the side of it.. god i’m an idiot

Hi yenzo, sorry to hear about that dude. How big is the hole? If it isn't that big you could probably use plastic welding glue to patch that up. Send me a pic if possible on juanpascal21@gmail.com

Love the hot air intake. But love even more that you still have the intake snorkel installed - without the vacuum from the engine it's completely useless, might as well take it off and save some weight to hopefully compensate for the loss of power of sucking hot air in the back of the engine bay as opposed to the original design of the engineers in the front of the car. Oh boy. Looks 'cool' though. Sure you're sucking in heaps of dust too than with the original paper filter. Oh well.

You're perfectly right, but i don't really care as it's not a race car. This car gets me from point A to B and now have over 300000ks on it and still going strong. The short ram intake was more for the esthetic.

@@diyness9442 i like my short ram for the sound, the oem airbox sounds like a buzzing bees
