The Suzuki Swift began in 1985 as a marketing and manufacturing rebadge of the Suzuki Cultus, a supermini (or subcompact) manufactured and marketed worldwide across three generations and four body configurations-three-door hatchback, four-door sedan, five-door hatchback and two-door convertible-and using the Suzuki G engine family.
The Swift was marketed in the Japanese domestic market (JDM) as the Cultus and elsewhere as the Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Forsa, Suzuki Jazz, Chevrolet Swift, Chevrolet Sprint and Sprint Metro, Geo and Chevrolet Metro, Pontiac Firefly, Maruti 1000, Holden Barina and Subaru Justy. Versions of the second generation Cultus were also produced until 2007 in India and the car remains in production today in Pakistan and China. For more information on the initial versions of the Swift, see: Suzuki Cultus and Geo Metro. The version of Maruti Suzuki launch in India happened in May 2017.

Just found this vid. Got to do mine tomorrow, on a 2006 Swift. Your commentary really made me smile after the bad news of its M.O.T fail. Looks like a job I should be able to do. Good video and well explained in a humorous way. Keep up the good work.

...you are correct. Do not tighten before aligning the arm to driving height. If you don't, it will place stress on the arm bushings and they will prematurely fail. Great job, thanks

That was actually super helpful, I watched other videos as they seemed clearer but actually you nailed it, it's the sequence of installing the new arm that made it a breeze, some cursing prior to that! ;)

Great video, although my balls(joints) were tighter then yours and I struggled to get them in. Undoing the two bolts to the shock/hub helped

I’ve had mine replaced both sides. Now the right side makes a loud creaking / knocking noise when turning and pulling away. What had the mechanic done?! He keeps telling me the bolts are tight. When I spray with silicon spray near the ball joint bolt, it stops for a while

Great vid, thanks! Not that I was going to do this myself - just came here to ask: Is it normal for this part (the ball joint part particularly) to be broken after 1-2 years? I'm starting to get sick having to constantly have it repaired. It is always at least 100€ per side including work. Otherwise I love that car, it's just this that pisses me off.

Would this be similar on a 2013 Suzuki Alto, and would you use the same position for the axle stand ? Thank you.

You can use this tut for an alto, too.

I've just done my Alto and the only extra bits I had to do was remove the plastic undertray around the auxiliary belt area, and disconnect the track rod from the steering arm to give me enough space to manoeuvre the arm to get the rear bolt in. Thank you, really helpful video.

If you have an industrial press it is possible
@dagonGate7
@dagonGate7 4 жыл бұрын
It s more expensive to change the bushings only,than the whole wishbone! There is always the danger to bend or damage the wishbone with the press! That's why everybody change the whole piece!
