I have Golf 5 1.6 FSI 85KW and i put Castrol Magnatec 5W40 on last service. Am i wrong? Is there a better option instead of engine oil that i used?

My golf Mk5 R32 uses the manual recommend 5w30 Castrol edge. Hope that helps.

@@autodocuk What is the normal oil consumption for 1.6 FSI engine in golf 5? I put magnatec 5w40, and after 7000 km oil dropped at minimum on oil dipstick. Is that normal? Thank you.

What, i thought you had to drain the oil before removing the filter? Thats what im used to, so oil doesnt pour out of where the oilfilter is

You forgot something in this. It is common practice to apply some oil to the new filter before fitting. Apart from that I have to say excellent series with the Mk5. Currently working on my R32 and with help with future work with the car.

Hi there! I just founded this video. Never done my self but looks quiet easy. Couple things-Shouldn't open top before do any procedure? I mean oil cap on top. Doesn't slow down to leak out of oil? Another thing, how much new oil I should put in? Always 4L? I have mk5 1.6 fsi match. Tom
