How to change George hoover 370-2 motor

How to change George hoover 370-2 motor that this motor has blown. As we like to ensure we have a spare hoover head to make sure we can keep going and keep our cost down instead of buying another George at a cost of £200+ we will just replace the motor with a copy motor for around £25 - £35 or you can also buy a original motor for about £90.
This should take around 10mins to do start to finish, but this time we had only put 1 of 2 rubber seals on to the new motor on to the bottom this meat when we switched it on the motor inside spanned inside. When i reopened the hoover head i than released that i hadnt put the top seal on. Once the top rubber seal is on and hoover is back together you see when we switch it on this time it runs as it should.

Well done - a bit of a mistake that was corrected , still got the job done and a great saver for anyone with a George needing a new motor fitted ... thumbs up .

Totally. Have done them a few times and never done that 😂😂. Think it was more of being nervous doing a vlog.

Cant see where you are putting those connectors when the new motor is seated inside..the yellow/green, white and blue connectors...where do they go?

@@LothianValet Thank you so much. My new motor is for George GVE370-2 But it had only 2 white cables to disconnect which is attached to the switch part. I dont know why the new motor has 3 new cables to connect...the blue one has a light on it.. which I cannot understand why..

It maybe a newer version hoover/motor to the George wet/dry in this video.

Something i haven't thought of 🤔, but would depend if the bigger motor would fit the space

@@LothianValet it’s should be a case of getting the dimensions and then finding a motor with either a higher amp or better water lift. Looks like there could be some wiggle room in that motor housing too.not sure if a 3 stage would fit with out a bit of tweaking, but then 3 stages aren’t always stronger than a powerful 2 stage so some research might be needed. My main reason for thinking and wanting to do this is to draw more water out of carpets so drying time is reduced but still keep a compact unit

100% would be alot for soaking up the water. Do try and not soaking the seats too much and maybe going over them a 2nd time 🤔

@@LothianValet good tip there. I do multiple passes but find it could be dryer. I also clean my house carpets but find that they don’t dry fast enough. Also with more draw it should drag out dirt a lot easier.

I tend to have heaters on for the heat most of the tjme seats are dried before i leave expect for the last seat that was done

Ive got all my motors off ebay but i keep getting them from the same people. Unfortunately not exactly sure od any websites to buy a genuine motor from. Best to try your hardware stores that do hoover repairs but they can go from £100+ which i was quoted

@@LothianValet sorry to bother you again mate. On average how long do the motors last? I'm considering whether to replace or buy a new wet and dry vac.

Consider mines is in use 5 - 6days a wk for about 5hrs day copy motor getting about 18months. Bear in mind during the summer I'm doing 12 - 14hra shifts not 6 - 7hrs or work
