1. Download & install XCC Mixer from xhp.xwis.net/
2. Click the Start Bar and start typing "mixer", click and open it
3. In Mixer, browse to your ZH directory, EnglishZH.big (or yourlanguageZH.big) and find the file called generals.csf
4. Right click generals.csf and click Extract. Extract it to your ZH Directory, Data, English (or your language)
5. Next, go to Launch, XCC String Table Editor, Open and browse to the generals.csf that you just extracted and saved (ZH Directory, Data, English)
6. A new window will open, select CONTROLBAR on the left hand side and see all your hotkey-able items on the right
7. Browse all the lines of text, right click and edit the value of what you wish to change and remember anything after & will be the hotkey
8. Once done editing, press OK on everything and close XCC Mixer
9. Run ZH and use your new hotkeys

Can i change the Camera panning buttons to WASD? i cant fine it anywhere :(

It is not possible unfortunately, the game engine is just not made for it :( Ur gonna have to get used to right-click scrolling

If you're using a Corsair keyboard you can use iCUE to remap the arrow keys to WASD when you're running Generals (it's its own profile and will only function in that way when you have the game open, so it's really easy to use once you've done it), that's how I do it. Other keyboard manufacturers probably also have software that can do the same thing. The only downside is that it makes text chat impossible as you can't use W, A, S or D, so if you're using it for multiplayer you might want to have another profile on a toggle that activates when you press whatever button it is to start a message and deactivates when you hit the send button or something like that. Should be doable. Shoot me a reply if you've tried and can't figure it out.

Its weird that the settings to adjust the navigation is no longer available. I have to use right click which im not used to since im accustomed to playing left click and navigate the mouse in any direction but the game forces me to use arrow keys which is rather annoying and hard to play. Im sure its not the resolution issue because i selected every option there is and im still having the same issue. Does the software you show can fix this?

thanks for that! also thanks to the commenters suggesting other methods, I'll be sure to check them and see what I can do. Honestly, I don't think many hotkeys need changes, just the ones on the right side of the keyboard, like L for missile lock.

Nice video. I love playing with air force. However, Sometimes I need to control more than 10 units of airplanes ( I mean ctrl + 0-9 hotkeys) because ussually I meed two airplanes to attack aircrafts etc. Is it possible to ad more hotkeys to control more air forces? (Ctrl + 0-9 but more)

Is there a way to change mouse hotkeys? Mouse clicks seem to be inverted from let's say SC2. Can't get used to c&c.

You can't use this for the commands like QWE for unit selection, or Space for jump to last event can you? Just production and abilities basically?

Dunno but you can not beat any good players using arrow keys. Use right click scroll

does this work with mods though? I play the latest reborn mod and with mods as you already know it adds a bunch of new stuff. if it doesn't, oh well I'll just have to deal with it but great video bro!

Holy shit why didnt they just put that in the game? I HATED having laser lock on the L key, thats a right-hand key!

Q - selects all units on screen, double tap Q, will select all on map. I'm sure if you look for Q you will find it quicker

E is to select all units of the same type as the already-selected unit(s). 2x E for all on map. In case you meant that
