How to change motorcycle tires without a front stand. Normally you need front and rear stands to remove motorcycle wheels. Here's an easy technique that allows you to lift your bike with an inexpensive rear stand and a bit of rope and block of wood for the front.

Your thumbnail fooled me. I thought it was some fancy, cantilever, rear stand with cables used to drive the front up....then I saw the hoist from the ceiling....lol. I cant do this in my garage, still, a great video!

great idea. i wanna do something similar. how long of a bungee did you get to wrap around the rear wheel up to both sides of your handlebars?

I've always done the front wheel on the side stand with axle stand just placed under the exhaust. No real weight on the exhaust. On a v-strom. Even sais in the handbook to do it like this. That's why I did.

Great content! I have a Versys and looking forward to my first tire change. I have front and rear stands but the front is a universal fit. I don't feel comfortable leaving my bike on the front like that for an extended amount of time. Using the pulley method might be the way to go!

You could have double looped around the handle bars ans saved a bunch of work and time. Use a come along and the rear stand is useless.

Yeah I'm surprised he doesn't have a stand. I only have a rear. Probably going to tie it to a tree it's looking like.

Why not buy a $100 stand? I’m a DIY guy but I try to weigh time/money/effort with these types of projects.
