Super helpful dude! I like a video that discusses the struggle points. I have a 2019 and about to do my first change. I need a helper like Jacob though because I always forget something before crawling under.

Trust me , it’s much better removing that whole plastic cover, it will save u heartaches and will be much cleaner , if u don’t remove the plastic plate cover it will be messy and oil will get all under carriage

ciavash shams so far my 8000 lbs skid steer on a trailer that weighs about 3000 I’d say so about 11000 lbs and it pulled it like a dream

Does your engine sound like its knocking almost like a pre detonation knock/ping sometimes while idling? If so you may be in for a new engine. Mine had a slight knock and the dealer diagnosed cylinder #7 was wearing prematurely and they replaced the whole short block with a new one under warranty. I guess this is common for the 2017 2018 titan XD and non XD

No never heard a knock from my engine. I’ve heard the normal tick noises that every single Nissan I’ve ever had or been around has made though

Nissan issued a service bulletin NTB19-057 on the engine knock. Huge problem. Nissan should fix this V8 headache.

Never heard of 0w20 before. My old ranger out in CA said 5w20 and ive used it and 10w30. My kia optima uses 5w20 also so I figured the titan would be the same but I wslas wrong. I just got a used 2017 titan S 7 months ago and shes due for a change. I gotta say the oil filters are bout half the size of my old 2001 ranger v6 so i was wonderin if i got the right one but i did.. Damn filters the same size as my 4 banger optima haha.

Yes they do have a tiny filter lol. Yep my wife’s Honda Accord takes the same 0w20 oil

i thought this XD came with diesel hows the 5.6L gas engine any issues ?

Brandon Black none so far.. 2018 was the first year of the gas engine and best of my knowledge the Cummins isn’t even available for 2020

I have a 2017 with the 5.6L gas so far I've had a leaking transmission cooler, a blend door actuator for the AC on the driver's side go bad and the third brake light cracked for no reason other than sitting out in the weather

Thanks for the video! For the plastic cover I ended up taking off the fourth bolt by the front corner driver side and had more room to access the oil filter. I went with the Fram Ultra Synthetic XG7317...like the grip rockguard it has for tightening/loosening. I filled the oil filter with 1/4 oil...figured better than no oil

Dave B yes I am very pleased with this truck so far. Tows like a dream and very fun to drive. I have right at 25000 miles on it and had no issues and I’ve been on several very long road trips
