Which is the oil filter wrench you recommended and what size in mm is it? Your link goes to a page with options but not to a specific item.

FYI: You all can pour oil directly into the oil filter housing unit area too (before replacing the new filter) since it has a wider area to pour than the narrower oil reservoir opening.

I still say pour oil into the fill cap for fresh oil on the internals. So there is already some there before the pump sends up oil.

wouldnt it be better to change the filter first so the extra oil from the filter gets pulled?

Thank you for this informative video MrCarman. I bought a 2007 Ml350 and noticed the weather strip in the driverside is just gone and all rainwater is coming in. Called mercedes and they said the weather strip is about $100 and separate labor fee. May i ask if i can use a universal belt moulding, i know it's not a perfect fit, however i have a lot to spend on the car so i was hoping maybe it could work?

I just bought a 2007 ML500 I won't be working on it but from my past experiences it's wiser to change the oil when your car hasn't been running because majority of the oil has settled down in the oil pan and you can get most of it out, but I will be ordering that pump for my Honda Element nice add for someone who will get dirty just not on the Benz that gotta have warranty when it's touched 😁

Should the oil filter be removed prior to finishing the oil extraction? Would that allow the oil in the filter to be removed also or does that matter? Thanks in advance. Daryl

Hi Daryl, sorry for the late reply, but i usually remove the oil filter while the pump is extracting the oil, but prior is completely fine too

Not sure if pumping is a great way of changing oil. You should always drain so metal contaminants go through the below route. Also, the washer and crusher can as well be checked and changed that way.

Jiffy Lube (nat'l oil change company) does this method too (extracting the oil instead of draining it from bottom). But what's the purpose or advantage of doing it this way?

The advantage is that you do not need to get underneath your vehicle, it also is alot more cleaner compared to draining from underneath. As well as being time efficient Thank you for watching and subscribing to MrCarMAN

The tube socket is removable and you just pour it out from there into ur motor oil gallons/container

Mobil 0W-40 European Car Formula is a full synthetic oil.
