Do you have the special (spring compressing) tool? Can you rent those? I wouldnt mind trying on my 2004 CRV

@@davidewan3 You can always buy your struts with springs on. I bought mine already have springs on them but I guess if you're looking at the price difference then I see your point then again it depends on what country and economic you live in.

Took 3 hours the shoulder of the bolt seized to the inner of the bush so had to cut the shocker and the bolt so for any one going to do the job hope it isn’t seized

why the steering wheel is on the left? Thought UK uses right side wheel.

Unless I somehow missed it I didn't see him make marks on the coil spring where the top mount bolts line up. If you don't have those aligned properly you won't be able to feed the top mount bolts through the mounting holes in the body of the vehicle.

Was hoping for a quick answer on usa model. Evap is on driver's side. Makes it hard to get out. They did passenger side. Probably for same reason.

What happens if u can’t compress the spring can u still remove the bolt?

You need to buy ones that they already have ones on because the old ones probably used up their tension or resistance capacity.

The number of people who have died trying to do so is not 0. Just mentioning this, since no one else here had. You absolutely HAVE TO compress the spring before attempting to remove the bolt. The release will be pretty violent otherwise. That being said, it *can* be done using tools other than the specialty shop rig shown here in this video. It involves multiple sturdy clamps, and not being dumb. Make sure its holding the tension properly before attempting to loosen the top bolt. Don't find out the hard way that walmart lied about the max. load limits on those dinky old tie-down straps you bought 8 years ago. If in doubt, or if you're a little bit stupid, just buy the pre-assembled replacements.

I saw in other videos that they removed the upper bolts first. Makes any difference?

How many hours of labor should be charged for this? It looks pretty simple and quick.

@@autodocuk Two hours? That's a long time. It could be done in an hour if you have all the tools you need including hydraulic jack and stands
