How to change / remove a watch strap without tools!

2 жыл бұрынSaw this nifty "life-hack" (or at least "strap-hack") a while back. It's so elegant and useful I decided to share it with all you guys! Back in the day when I was starting this hobby, I tried to figure out ways to do this. None of the popular channels I followed at the time showed this method and I think it's so good that it should be spread as much as possible! So here you go, good luck!

This is such a great video. I just wanted to switch out bands & had no extra pins. If I didn't cut myself, break a nail or scratch my watch I'd end up losing the pins! This is simple & easy & saved me from having to buy a package of pins just to use 2. I used waxed dental floss & the pin stuck to it until I needed to attach it to the band. No more lost pins! Thanks so much!

Thanks for the kind feedback! I think this is a misunderstanding, as I don't sell straps myself. There' a brand in Finland I have referenced sometimes, Noric Watch Straps (I know, the name is very similar and could as well be my brand haha) but I don't sell straps. Colareb are awesome!

Wow, that was a demonstration I put to use half-way through the video. I had a band that was so tight, I couldn't get a tool in between the leather. That's what made me look for some youtube advice. This works fantastic. I'll never bother even attempting any other way forever. No scratches and simple as hell! Thank you so much!

Wonderful idea! While dental floss failed, I used 10lb fishing monofilament line, which is much more durable. The spring bar popped out with a slight pull. Tip: Use garden gloves to protect your hands and for steadiness. A white dish towel under your work area helps.

Usually I use one of the smallest Swiss knives for that and it works just fine.

The floss broke on me when I tried on my old watch band but when I made a mistake on the new watchband and had to remove and redo it it worked like a charm..thank you

Haha yes this is actually a surprisingly smooth method and will not damage the strap😁 Sadly it won’t really work with bracelets.. maybe a thinner thread could work! Gott Nytt År till dig med! :)
