This looked tricky, so because I already had the diff off the car, I had my mechanic change the seal. He only charged $20! If I ever have to do it under the car, I'll follow your guidance. Thanks!

Well done. Good job. I rebuilt my back axle a few years ago but it all went together without any struggle! Think I was lucky!

Good tip about unloading the torque wrench .I have had one for 30years and did not know enough to store it the right way.I shall be better informed If I buy a new one.Watching from westcoast Canada.

I never knew this, so will do so from now on. The great thing about videos like this (and comments) is that us amateurs can learn stuff. Keep it up Kevin!

Hi Kevin great video as usual. Is it possible to improve lighting so we can see more detail. Your presentation is great not like some of the Cowboys on here.

Appreciate you have 'probably' remedied the leak / weep. My question is, How long do you think it will be before the diff will need a proper rebuild ? Did you remove the diff afterwards & check the run out ?
@kgcclassics32116 жыл бұрын
the diff shouldnt need a rebuild for a good while, theres no unusual or worrying noises or excessive play in anything on it :)

I feel your pain not having a lift to get the truck up where you can work on it easily.....I much prefer working on motorcycles for this reason !

I'd of given up with that and would have rang you :-)

You might have mentioned the sizes of spanners & sockets used rather than terming them as "big"

You didn't set up the back lash on the diff, so it probably went bang after a few miles

still going strong a few years and 1000's of miles later, all we did was change the seal, nothing else to the diff
