Before you remove each fork leg, release just the upper triple clamp and leave the lower one tight, then crack the top cap loose. That makes it easier to get them off when you have them on the work bench.

I would be interested in a video on how you clean the cartridges. Also when you have the fork tubes removed, its a good opportunity to clean and repack the upper and lower stem bearings.

"Clean the forks as best you can " he knows too damn well that those of us who 1, love bikes 2, willing to do this stuff on our own will spend an hour on each polishing each one until 3 weeks later,you've resprayed,kitted and overhauled the whole bloody thing.!

I wish there was a bit more on cleaning the inside of the fork. A fork pro told me to spray everything with contact cleaner to remove the old oil. And also to pump the cartridge a few times BEFORE you put new oil in to pump the old oil out of it. Plus the torque specs for the bottom and top “caps” would be nice to have stated.

What wrench are u using to hold the preload adjuster Nut. I can’t find one that fits between spring.

This video is great. When you mention: "You can set the (fork oil) height from 9cm to 13 cm" am I correct in my assumption this is the distance from the top of the fork down the the oil level?

Seals last a long time, especially the high quality ones used on KTMs. Most of the time when they leak, it’s just dirt that got up under the oil seal. You can use a seal-mate (or make your own from a plastic bottle) to clear the grime from under the seal, without removing the seals and bushings. Keep your fork inner legs clean and you’ll hav fewer leaks. Gaiters help with that.
