Am I doing something wrong after removing cylinder and pulling the rod out it pulls a bunch of grease with it and makes a mess?

@@alanross3435 are you sure your completely empty when changing cartridge, only other thing I can think is maybe your rubber plunger seal is damaged and letting grease to the back side of plunger
