I got into a habit a long time ago where I mostly, but not completely fill the oil filter with new oil. This way when you start the engine, the oil pump has oil sooner (than trying to pull it up through the dry filter) and therefore the engine sees oil faster. I'm sure it's not necessary to do it the way I suggested, but it surely can't hurt if you do....and if anything, the engine might like it better. For what that might be worth to you. PS - This only works on filters that are mounted upside down (like this one is). I thought this was another great video.....

If you would take the drain plug out of the filter and screw in the plastic plug that came with your filter, it will drain the oil from the filter and you don't get oil everywhere.

You can get a replacement cast aluminum oil filter housing . And I would suggest to lubricant the o-rings all around before installing .

Like your video. I am curious why you didn't replace the small O-ring on the filter housing.

Did you have a half quart left over from that 5 quart jug? I gave you thumbs up anyway. (Even though Toyota says not to use tools to remove an o-ring. Small thing.)

Thank you for the video, may I ask you what is the oil change interval on 2.5 liter Toyota engine? I was told by the Toyota sales agent that it is six month or 8000 km, but the internet suggests 10000 miles or one year for the synthetic oil 0W-20. Also how do you recycle used oil? Both 5w-20 and 0w-20 are IDENTICAL once the car is up to temperature. The difference is how thin those oils are when the car is cold. Neither the 0w or the 5w flow enough in the cold to properly lubricate your engine. However, the 0W is thinner and does LESS damage at start up than the 5W oil.
