How to Charge Elementor Pro Licenses to Clients without Ripping them Off and still make a Profit

This is asked a lot.
Should you charge Elementor Pro licenses back to the client - or absorb the cost?
And how can you give them a deal - so they get a discount, but you still make a profit?

Thanks for this - great as usual. For a handful of my early sites I've absorbed the cost of Elementor Pro as I bought the 1000 site deal when it was $199... but any I've done this year, and any going forward it's factored into the monthly aftercare package that is agreed with clients. My basic package is basically the cost of one annual Elementor Pro licence per month, and is for plugin/WP updates and the odd small amend. I think I need to start producing a more structured offering for packages above this.

We did the same, and then the penny dropped in terms of why are we giving it away for free, because if the client doesn't want EL Pro and they want to use a standard page builder that came with their host, then fine, but it'll be without the bells and whistles. I hope the video helps :)

Lifetime when you can afford them are amazing for income, as you can charge the single license cost back to the client, and often a few of them will pay for the Lifetime cost itself :)

I buy templates, clearly designed with elementor pro, yet when I try to amend them they only have 'elementor free' installed. How does that happen?

They won’t come shipped with Elementor Pro as you have to purchase that license. It’s like buying a house that has an Apple TV stuck to the wall. You would still need to pay the subscription to use it.

as a starter who has no client yet and who has nothing much to pay for the license .. how do you ask your first client to pay for bigger thing

You have to decide if the premium product is the right choice for your client. If so then they have to invest and pay for it. It’s like someone wanting a Big Mac but not paying for it.

You should only offer licenses as part of maintenance plans because you’re giving them a license as they are part of your network.

In that case, if I understand it correctly, then out of the 3 packages you are showing as examples at the end of the video (core, check, active), only the last two are feasible, as in the core package you are basicaly only charging for the plugins+hosting, correct? Btw. thanks for the great video :)

Elementor have confirmed that this is 100% against their terms of service. You're not allowed to charge your clients for Elementor Pro in any way whatsoever. This includes providing them the installation on the site, charging them to install Elementor Pro etc. I was surprised because I know you were invited to their recent community talk and the fact they hadn't flagged this issue with you already was of interest.

If it’s part of a maintenance plan or care package where you provide the license then it’s completely okay.

@@websquadron They stated in an email when I referenced this video that's it's not okay. Even with a maintenance or care package, saying to the client that Elementor Pro is included, supported, going to be installed etc is against their terms. I know their motivation now though, they don't want people to be able to compete with Elementor Hosting because they 'include' Elementor Pro for free as part of the deal.

@@websquadron The way they put it is if the client wants Elementor Pro beyond the build stage they have to purchase it. It's against their terms to charge the client for Elementor Pro directly, in any form where it could be assumed that a charge is for Elementor. It basically means, install it all you like but don't try and charge the client for doing so, either now or in the future. 🤷‍♂️

@@websquadron I've always assumed it was fine until I asked the question today and was told it's not, I normally absorb the cost and after a period of time just revoke the license. I was considering adding this to a monthly fee that is charged to the client (with other premium plugins that allow it) and was going to specifically itemise it as to show the client a discount on the single license price (as you're doing here).
