I like a visual confirmation and using the Noid light was pretty cool.

wyattoneable you can use the Noid light on any to wire a switch. I use it a lot testing vacuum switches Evap Pergin and vent valves. Give it a try the next time you get a chance.

Ramon A. Pagan Kercado I came up with this one a few years ago when I did not have a helper in the shop to operate switches or whatever I was working on at the time.. now I adapt that same technique to all kinds of switches like Evap purge valve's and vent valve.

Does the noid light test for 12 volts? Or is it better to use a multimeter?

Hi, how does it work if you have a front washer and a rear washer with a single pump, and only 2 wires going to the pump?

so if the pump dont work it doesnt spray at all, and if the hoses or nozzles are messed up they spray some but not like it should ?

Free Spirit it's possible for the nozzles to be completely plugged it won't spray also

Yes it can but it not a 100% because there is no load on it. The light adds a load to the circuit.

Can't you just use a Multimeter instead? Take the positive lead to the positive post, and vice versa. That should give you a voltage reading. I would guess no need for these Noid Lights.

Scott Gibson Yes but if use a voltmeter it require two people one person to operate the switch and one person to watch the readings. This way you get a visual signal that yes it’s getting what it needs to work. Now now if the light did not light up then you would use the voltmeter method to determine if it’s missing the power or missing the ground.

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I had the wife activate the switch (2009 Cadillac CTS). I tried mesauring but am getting nothing. Checked relays and fuses, both good. For some reason there is no voltage getting to the connector. I've tested the windshield washer pump and it is working fine, so its not the pump. On the same harness, there is another connector that isn't getting voltage either (the headlight washer pump, some cadillacs have 2 pumps).........but on that same harness, the low washer fluid sensor is getting 12V and works fine. I'm stumped :(

I see your post is 7 months old. Did you figure it out? Perhaps multi-function switch?

@@HowtoAutomotive You don't need 2 people just a piece of wire, string, zip tie, fishing line or whatever you have laying around to hold the switch on. Think I used a zip tie last time.
