Ok for thermometers I just have to say this. Working in a vet hospital, speed and accuracy is REALLY important! and I've come to rely on the Omron MC-341 for my TPRs. Literally within 10 seconds you have an accurate reading! Helps so much against angry cats or snappy dogs.
What a great patient! :0)Does blood pressure need to be taken I wonder?

You're wrong about the heart rate Normal” ranges from 60 to 140 beats per minute in a resting dog - 60 to 100 in big dogs and 100 to 140 in little ones. While you can check the rate with your hand over the heart, you can also take a pulse by gently feeling the beat near the inside top of your dog's hind leg.

Thank u. They didn’t say the normal range so I was looking for this comment.

I'm confused. Was the breathing into the snout so obviously not into the snout because this is a stuffed toy and it can't go in? Or is that how you're supposed to do it? The second bout of CPR for two minutes "uninterrupted", does this mean don't do the breathing into the snout part?

I think it's femoral artery that u need to look for it you need pulse

My dog is breathing a bit high and with a lot of force. Also her stomach is contacting way too.much while she breaths. The vet couldn't find anything wrong. Is there something I need to be worried about because I'm really freaking out

didn't really explain how we count their breaths. Do we hold their necks, feel their nose or just put our palm on their backs trying to feel them breathing?
@pug68714 жыл бұрын
I mean, you can see when they breath... you just watch there chest or put your hand on them :/
@shadowprince44824 жыл бұрын
Same with humans. Just look out for their chest rising and falling.

Hamid Ali she is a technician not an assistant. Which is closely related to a nurse :). At most clinics the assistants help the technicians. Like a medical assistant helping a nurse, but I agree both are very pretty

Very good, but much of the world does not use 'old money' fahrenheit. Might be a good idea to mention the ideal is between 38.2 to 39.2 celsius/centigrade. Anything lower than 37 or more than 40 - straight to the vet. Now I'll go and try again for a heartrate for my dog, he's keeping it well hidden ;-)

Wait, isn't 80 bpm too low? I remember I checked vitals on a dog and I got 82 bpm, but someone said it was too low and got 128bpm...
@Adcmd195 жыл бұрын
it depends on what breed of dog it is. whether it is a large breed like lab or even a great dane. as low as 60-80 is completely normal. what you had prob was a smaller breed dog such as a chihuahua or bichon for eg. up to 180 is normal as well. cats range from 110-220

Oversimplified info with no elaboration on high low results as far as beats per min or breaths per min etc also 8-40 is a wide gap and again no insight about near 8 or near 40 breathes depending upon dog I suppose puppy vs. older dog possibilities. I do appreciate that they tried to put SOME sort of basic vid though. Details people.....at least a few sheesh.

Femoral ARTERY not vein!!!!!! Also a count for less than 30 seconds is not reliable, count for 1 min or 30 seconds.
