I’ve recently purchased a F350 and was online doing research 🧐 watching countless videos for bed covers for my truck. This video was hands down the best video of them all. It gave me many different options in one video, and thoroughly explains the difference in all different truck bed covers. GREAT PRESENTATION!!!!! I will be ordering mines very soon. I choose the folding hard cover.

I had a BakFlip MX4 on my 2016 Ram 2500 6' 4" bed and it worked fine I did not have any issues with it. I also installed a BakFlip MX4 on my 2019 Ram 1500 5' 7" bed and have not had any issues with it either. I also installed a Dualliner bed liner in both trucks another very good product to protect the bed.

Nice video. Glad you didn't show Gator covers. I purchased their tri fold with a 10 year warranty on the vinyl and after 3 years it has failed. When I called, they told me that product was discontinued and there was nothing they could do. No offer for another cover with no sort of discount for a failed product. Terrible business. Do not use Gator covers. Thanks.

Excellent brief, yet very informative video showing the advantages of many tonneau cover options. I came looking for cover options that will protect my gear from the snow and rain, but also easily removed or retracted to load motorcycles and other toys in the bed. This video was the perfect intro to help me find what I'm looking for.

RollnLock hands down. Had mine on my F250 for the past five years. Got mine used on craigslist. Repainted the rails and front cover with berliner. Works great. Don't know hope I did without it.

Had a solid cover and hated that i couldn't use the bed with tall items or had to leave it open. Definitely looked good and water resistant. Changed to a used Retrax rollback. I like it. But the canister has gotten in the way. The black is super hot in the summer. And it leaks water through the slats. The drains also suck on the canister. Customer service is top notch though. Another option i have been curious of is the Peragon covers. Easily remove the whole thing. I may eventually go this route but have heard complaints of them malfunctioning.

I have a BakFlip MX4 and I like the cover but durability is an issue with mine. Having said that mine is the first generation of this cover and it looks like they have addressed most of the issues I've had with mine. The main issue has been the joints where it folds. They split over time but it looks like they have substantially re-enforced the joints on the new version. Also on mine you had to open the first section in order to close the tail gate which is a pain in the ass, especially if you live in a snowy climate, and it caused the joint of that section to fail fairly quickly. The new version no longer requires the section to be lifted to close the tailgate. The other issue I had was the pull cable to release latches to open the first section broke. Again likely because of having to release that section every time you close the tailgate

I have had my cover since 2012 for my F-150...it cost $900.00 is 1" thick honey comb aluminum..it still looks new and does not leak...its a tri-fold..I love it..fyi..( 5 yr warranty) Extang trifold..made USA..

Why just Fords? Not that I’m complaining. Got my new F150 Saturday, my spray-in bedliner on Tuesday and my Retrax Pro today. Next is Yakima bed rack and Thule roof rack and I’ll be all set. Love that slot system Retrax.

I was not interested in watching a seven minute video on tonneau covers but for some strange reason I could not peel my eyes off for the entire 7 minutes and 22 seconds. A true mystery. ;)

I have the proven ground hard cover for my f150 and it is the bomb and half the price of the big names.... all of them ate good its just what your willing to pay. Good info and video

I have the mx4 and paid about $1200.00 about five years ago. Not impressed. It has dents all over, probably from when I flip it back. Some of the dents now have cuts through them. The panels are all swollen from water infiltration during the winter months. Two of the panels don’t close properly because the ends have bent upwards( they are only held in place by a little silicon). My dad has the hard plastic one shown with all the blocks on it. It isn’t bad but it does move around on the bed rails, especially if your truck has plastic covers. In my case I would only buy another mx4 if I found one at a really good price, $800.00 max

I got one of these vinyl ones that roll up with the velcro on the edges. Its not theft proof but it is really quick to use and keeps stuff dry. I had a revolver aluminum roll up on my last truck and I like this one better.

I got a chuckle out of her "installation" times (even with two people). The directions alone take 30 minutes to decipher lol. That being said, I really like my Revolver X4s.

I went with that soft cover folding first option. I’m happy enough with it. Easy to install. Keeps track bed free of snow in winter right now and I’ll pop it off come spring when I need the full bed for atv etc

I had the hard fold kind. FYI, Within a year the top surface was faded and looked like a exposed fiberglass kinda...( like my Jeep top, but it took it 20 yrs to reach that point) so Maybe it needs a treatment? I know vinyl needs treatment to keep the appearance up! It looked awesome and was easy to install. In the end I would just save up and get a camper top, they are nice!!

I enjoy having that slider on my ford real nice all of them and Sharp looking.

BAK Industries’ customer service is excellent. I bought a used truck with a BakFlip VP bedcover that had the drain hoses missing. BAK sent me a pair of hoses at no charge though I wasn’t the original buyer of the bedcover.

I'd like to see her install any of these in 20 mins. I remember back in the day guys making bed covers from plywood and 2x4s covered in outdoor carpet. We've come a long way from the one single lid fiberglass option.

I had that extang 2.0 hard fold cover. It was a piece of junk. The water leaked at the panels so bad....every time it rained my bed was soaked with water. Waste of $800. I now have a cheap soft fold cover from rough country and the cover doesn't leak a drop of water when I go through the car wash, and I've had the cover on for three years now and it still looks and works great!!!

Another wild card is the climate you live in. I live where there is lots of snow and ice. I have a soft cover, and the vinyl gets pretty stiff in subzero temps. I would probably be better of with a hard cover but went with economical.

Wished someone would do a presentation of a truck cover and still use an existing rack system , like Trak Rac.

Anyone looking to purchase the Bak revolver DON'T! The felt on the under side of the cover will come off. They use a cheap ass spray on adhesive that doesn't like humidity! And trust me when I say this, when the sun is beating down on the cover and you go to unroll it you will burn your fingers unless wearing gloves. Also the way the cover is hinged once that uncouples it never will go back together. And the vinyl top (it's nice) however the texture fills with dirt and will not come out. I almost forgot the cover is not as secure as Bak claims. You can break into it with a coat hanger! To anyone out there looking to buy a tonneau cover spend the money and go with RETRAX! They are made in North Dakota by people who understand what it will be used for. I know Bak tonneau is made in southern California but that's part of the problem! How often does it snow in southern Cali? And what about the humidity?

There's a version like the 'hook & loop' one you showed, that roles up, but it's a plastic channel version. I had it on my 2016 Canyon and loved it, and have been trying to find it for my 2022 Silverado but can't. Why is this design harder to find?

I installed the Revolver X2 on my new 2017 F-150. As with most black covers, this one gets scorching hot in the sun. There are wide felt strips glued to the bottom of the cover, which help prevent pinching your fingers (or burning them!) when rolling the cover to the front. In spring 2019 the felt strips adhesive started releasing, and by mid summer the felt was hanging down into the bed of the truck! The cover CANNOT be rolled without the felt in place - unless you want pinched/bloody/burned hands. So, I had to purchase a "felt replacement kit" from BAK. Seriously?? Peeling and replacing the felt was MEGA difficult! VERY disappointed! By the summer of 2021 the vinyl on top had started peeling and curling up from the aluminum at the edges. Seriously?? FOUR YEARS OF LIFE FROM A $800+ COVER?? Now they're over $1,000!! I let it go for another year - until now. I finally decided it had to go... it looks terrible! The plastic guides were coming out of the rails... literally falling apart! I was extremely pleased when the cover was NEW. It worked perfectly! There all sorts of reviews when they are NEW. But look for a REAL WORLD review of a cover which has been used a few years. I guess if you always keep your truck garaged and parked out of the sun you may have better luck. VERY disappointed in the life expectance of the cover considering what I paid. Today I'm installing a competitor "tri-fold" hard cover I found for $600. Time will tell with this one...
