I picked my MLB team just because they're the MLB affiliate of my city's Triple A team. Super fun and excited to get into baseball! I grew up heavy in basketball and football, both college and professional, and largely ignored baseball. But after going to a number of my city's minor league team I am starting to see the appeal. I am a New York Yankees fan. My first time in America was when I picked up my sister at the jfk airport. She was abroad for 6 months and I decided to join her for the last 10 days. We meet each other at the airport. We got us a car and we travelled to Boston, Buffalo (Niagara falls), Philadelphia and New York City again. I just love the structure of Manhattan. The skyscrapers. The Nintendo world store 😂😅 etc. there are a lot of things.. so I’ve been a huge fan of NY before and now that I’ve first set my foot on American ground in New York City I decided somehow to follow the Yankees and basically all the NY clubs. For me that’s reason enough and I paid 129,99€ to watch all the 162 games on MLB.TV.. I hope this works out.. sometimes the games air live at 1 am in Germany.. that’s sad but I do anything to watch them 😅 #bronxbombers ❤️

I'm from Cleveland and have been an Indians fan since the 60's. They gave me some free tickets when I was in school and got me to love baseball even though not very good teams at that time. I live in Arizona now so it's hard to follow the Indians but have a couple apps on my phone that help. Also get to watch them in Spring training and enjoy watching the other teams too. Love your videos.

Baseball is the only sport where I had to actively pick a team to follow. From England, and I have always kind of followed NA sports through personal connections. My older brother spent 2 years living in Houston, and he returned a huge Rockets fan so they have been my NBA team for about 15 years now. On my first trip to the US I went to an NFL game between the Saints and the Giants. I was sat amongst the Saints fans, made some friends that day and I went to an afterparty that evening, so I've been a New Orleans Saints fan since then. Baseball is only sport I had no personal connection to so I thought I'd stay somewhat loyal to Houston sports and picked the Astros, but when I googled their history, boy oh boy that seemed like a terrible decision. Nonetheless, I stuck with them and I'm starting to feel a bond with the team and the fanbase through online interaction. Thanks for doing these btw. Enjoyed watching.

With the Mariners I like Ken Griffey Jr and the colors of the Mariners and their logo and it stuck with me. Now I live in Washington and I can go to Mariners games now … 😁

I’ve played recreational softball 🎾 2 yrs ago and it became my second favorite sport besides basketball. Now I wish I could have played softball when I was in high school and college but I’ll definitely play recreational softball again. I live in Atlanta and always wanted to go to a braves game. I have yet to go. They recently won the World Series against the Houston Astro’s . As for now, I will go for the team where I live until I learn more about the other teams in the league. By the way, always wanted a baseball jersey lol. I just like how they look and now that I’ve been following the Atlanta braves I’ll get a braves jersey.

When I moved to Vermont, I was already a Red Sox fan, but the local blackout restrictions mean that I’m being essentially price gouged out of watching Red Sox games. So I’m thinking of visiting Fenway when I get a chance, but generally watching games with another team.

YANKEES fan here. I'm an American currently living in Melbourne, Australia, and I'm loving your educational ⚾️ vids, Ashley. Just some further thoughts: I hate it when I do all this research on certain NYY players only to see that they get traded at which point I lose interest in following those players when I need to start fresh research on whoever the new guys are. Also, would you say that when you pick a favorite team in the Majors and want to follow them, do you also follow all of their minor league affiliates?

My older family like grandparents and parents were Huge Braves fans here back in the 50's & early 60's. Once they left town in 65 a lot of people jumped ship and became Cub fans- my whole family waited and didn't follow this trend lol. Lucky they did until we finally got a team again in 1970. It was also extremely easy to follow the Cubs here with WGN tv & radio and all the games being easily at our finger tips. I was born in 1980 and the only year my team made it to a WS in 82 the city and fans were on fire for the Brewers and growing up my dad and grandparents wouid avidly listen to Bob Uecker and follow games on Super 18 when they were on regualr local tv. Plus my dad taking me to afternoon games at old County Stadium- I was Hooked. Currently a season ticket holder and still listening to Uecker and following every game. Go Crew!

Where can I read your writing for the different teams you cover? (EDIT: SB Nation, got it!)I grew into an Atlanta Braves family, mainly from my cousin’s family and my grandparents. I’m in the Nashville area of Braves country though, so I’m still waiting for the day Nashville finally gets an expansion team! I work on the Camera/Audio crew for the AAA Sounds, so that’s how I get my fix for now! Also, it has caused me to follow the Rangers. Very cool to witness guys play at our park and then get called up the next week or vice versa.

Got some Japanese watching the angels for ohtani and cardinals for nootbar because they played for Japan in the world baseball classic. If you watched that you can follow certain players instead of teams as a whole

Awesome video!! I’m from Ohio so I support Cincinnati because I love the city and it’s blue collar attitude plus the players are great with the fans, and the fan’s support the players. Both players and fans hate the owners! I also love the Oakland athletics because of billy bean. I enjoy the cardinals because I watched McGuire set the home run record when I was younger. The Yankees are baseball…idk how anyone can hate the Yankees. I would also recommend to my England mates that there’s overlap. Red Sox have stock in Liverpool. The CEO for LEEDS united came from San Francisco. There’s other clubs that have American connections so that could be a starting point

It's tough for me. I'm British. When I was a kid, the only playground sport I enjoyed playing was Rounders, which was the direction "base-ball" grew in mostly here from its origin in Tudor times. So of course, being the only sport I liked playing, I also want to watch it, and baseball is basically the same game so hits that itch. But "Rounders" isn't a professional sport, there are no teams, and in fact probably is part of what prevents baseball taking off here. We have a baseball league (based on international rules, which I believe grew out of US rules) but nobody knows about it. There's just no baseball culture here. Even if I followed a team, it's not the same. So my choices are to follow American or Japanese baseball, but the problem there is I have no regional or family ties to any team. So I'm kinda just going to have to pick a random team. Bleh.
