So you've just begun your journey into collecting CDs. But how do you choose the best cd player? What CD players are best for your budget? What is the best CD player for a small room and what if you want a portable CD player to listen on the go? In this video I go through some options for budget CD player options to help you decide.

I use my cd players as transports, bypassing the internal dac to my dedicated dac and then system. For people starting this is all good advice. Good video and information.

Evening Matt. I've been using a second hand Rega Apollo (the original version) for the past 10 years. Recently have been looking at transports. However, my work-a-day systems (garage etc) I have used Sony slot loader CD players bought from eBay for around £40 a pop. Good sounding dedicated players. Also an easy match with budget Sony amps....the Tafe30(I think it is) in my garage gear was around £40 too. A £10 Demon FM tuner and a free pair of old Celestions and I have a great sound for £90. A good way into pretty decent sounding CD playback. Best wishes from The Isle of Skye, keep up the good work. Richard

Not personally a fan of slot loading cd players. The Rotel Tribute is great value & sound with decent built in DAC. A few dealers still have stock as discontinued now My main system has a decade old Onkyo C7070 which has amazing electronics for what it retailed at. That replaced a budget Pioneer which was dull sounding by comparison. Very shallow tray, Lionel Richie 🎶 💿 slide over the back which jammed. A local electronics guy released & serviced the mechanism 👍 Would be a great 2nd hand buy with a warranty
