From what i have taken from this video, if you are a little broader on your niche, it's fine. But if you have two completely different niches, you wil run into that jack of all trades master of none scenerio. which is a problem. I suugest focuusing on the one niche that you have the greatest passion for/ that you are the best at.

This really makes me feel my age... It was a time where being a "Jack of all trades" was cool. Now it isn't. The world changes and if you don't attention and keep up, you will truly fall behind. This video inspired me today! Thank you Dan Lok!

Thanks Dan for this great video! I would love to see a unique video for coaches that explains them exactly how important it is to use specific "key words" to dominate their niche. Not only would it attract more of the clients they are looking for, but it could help Closers to find the specific niche their working in = win win situation ;). Looking forward to all your videos because I know for a fact that they are Always of High Quality, Full of Value and watching them over and over again, they give each and every time a different angle/perspective to the subject and it unables the growth of my capacity of thinking. Take care and bless you.

Lately i started to be motivated and Dan Lok literally locks you with his speech. Motivation is the fuel to put you in driver's seat. You will learn when the gear is but you first need to enter the car and this, Dan does it very well (by the way when i say car i don't mean the humongous Bentley) :-)

You're completely right Dan, if you focus more time and effort into developing your skills and mastering a specific areas, you're much more likely to see great returns than to just be a generalist in 100 different areas. I fully agree

The talk reassured me that I'm on the right track; I need to find a way to drill down to my niche. It's okay to be a jack of all trades since you really can become a master of many if you are passionate enough. But when a customer is willing to spend money, they are looking for something specific. On their journey from feeling an itch and giving their money to you, they need to know that you understand and deal with their problem and nothing else. I still have no clue how to do it, but I have a clue now it feels for the customer when you are not specific enough for them. I'm even more energized now to figure it out. Thanks, Dan!

Great info as normal Dan. I was a plumbing and heating engineer for 12 years but now specialise in House repair and maintenance. I have always been put in the bracket of jack of all trades purely because of my life style choices I made along the way. To be honest I'm tired of using my physical body and hard working hands, working for a hourly rate. I would like some information on what would be the best way/option to invest my next 40k?

I am convinced that you seem less "special" when you get yourself ready to do anything to land a contract. I have just had a prospect asking me to review the work of one of my competitors. We did not agree on a deal together, he has chosen another company but he still wants me to double-check the work. It might be because he has better trust on my Expertise.

Hi Dan. Interesting clip. I've suffered from the Shiny Object Syndrome and, unfortunately, it took years to find that out. Now, the first thing I did was disassociating myself from that negative image in the market. Being a former Olympic swimmer, and having obtained my Bachelors degree in Mass Communication and Effective Public Speaking, I establish an entity that focuses on developing those 2 skills for teenagers. My question is.. Would this look OK in terms of being focused and having a specialty from the market's point of view? Or would it look as if I'm trying to master everything? I intend to launch in Jan 2019 and at the meantime am doing the necessary planning, company setup and consultations. Sorry for my lengthy question.

I learnt that: Focus is Important to Grow and Earn. Explore -> Focus ->Explore -> Focus..and so on. How much you Earn is Directly Proportional to How well do you understand your Market. You want to be Seen as an Specialist because you too want an Specialist NOT a Generalist when it comes to Solving Specific Problems. This is Not Narrow Mindedness, this is Focus.

I have definitely been guilty of this - trying to be a jack-of-all-trades - just because I wanted the money or some job. For example early on when I tutored I took on all sorts of subjects - biology, maths, chemistry, physics, economics - etc. My flawed generalist mindset and lack of commitment is probably why I haven't been able to grow tutoring beyond a $300/week side-job in 7 years of doing it.
