It’s easy to neglect kitchen appliances when we use them so often. But pleeeease give them some love! Taking care of your things will make them last and cleaning is so easy if you don’t let it get too bad. This toaster oven has not seen soap in a LONG time, or possibly ever. Watch us scrub our hearts out and get this toaster oven back to almost brand new.

It looks amazing. I'm happy she used a real life toaster oven because let's face it, few people really clean their air fryer or toaster ovens every single time!! I'd be very nervous about getting anything in those heating elements.

I use a spray bottle mix of vinegar and water and then baking soda...used it on an oven that when I moved in no one ever cleaned and it SOOO worked and helped!

Hey, apparently the baking soda and vinegar thing is a bust. I don't know much about chemistry, but chemists have posted that It only works while it is bubbling. But then the baking soda chemically neutralizes the acid in the vinegar, and you are left with basically...water.

I second, third, fourth the idea of putting plastic wrap over the cleaner you use. I've also used plastic wrap over Easy-Off fume freea cleaner and let it sit. Finally, the next time you're at Dollar Tree, get little brushes from the crafts aisle. It's good for getting crumbs out where the door meets the rest of the oven. Finally, I always wrap the crumb tray in foil. Some manufacturers don't recommend doing that, but they're not the ones who are cleaning my toaster oven.

I like the copper coated scouring pads for scrubbing stainless steel pots without scratching them the way SOS/steel wool can. I’ve certainly used SOS pads on my toaster oven rack, but Power Wash wasn’t around then. I’ll have to try the DW pod hack. I also line the toaster oven crumb tray with heavy duty aluminum foil for quick cleanup.

Here's a good trick to keep the vertical walls of the oven soaking in the product: After spraying the walls thoroughly with product, immediately cover with plastic wrap. This will not only keep the product covering all surfaces, but it stops the products from drying out. Even if you leave it overnight, the product will stay wet, and therefore continue cleaning. Cleaning will be much easier after soaking for more time.

I went to just using my air fryer. I need to clean both the air fryer needs it more but I don't know if I can use Dawn power wash on the fan area?🤔 That's definitely is where the fan gets gunked up the most then burns out quickly. I lost another off name toster oven like that. I will try all of these you didn't say which dish pod to use my guess this is like a Cascade? I don't have a dishwasher so I don't know.🤔 Thanks so much for doing this video... I was about to risk it all and use easyoff I bought now I'll take it back because of this video. 😂😂😂 Thank you 😊👍🏾❤

You should NOT use SOS pads ! They cause micro abrasions and will damage the surfaces. Use a soft sponge instead and microfiber cloths. It takes a little longer but is worth it ! Rince everything with water and a bit of lemon juice after.
@ArtistInNewHampshire

People might not realize, but the stuff in Brillo pads and SOS has an ingredient that, while seeming to polish a pot’s interior, once heated it burns just enough so it necessitates scrubbing all over again! I use Dobie pads with various mild abrasive creams, when needed.

@RoyalSnowbird - Thank you for letting me know not to use SOS pads. I’ve been doing that just only on the glass. I don’t know how to clean the entire toaster oven. Been trying to get my parents to clean their toaster oven, but I clean both trays, glass window, and just recently did the tray with lines. I’ve been using dawn, Micheal Meyer’s, regular sponges and paper towels to clean the lined tray, both trays, and the outside. The microfiber cloth, I tried to use a couple of times, but it ended up ruining the cloth. Even if it went through the washer and dryer, the stains are there and the cloth doesn’t feel like it was before. What type of microfiber cloths do you use?

@@AnnaSusannaFinkelstein-bd7ul You need to check your eyesight as SOS pads do leave scratches. I am a professional in my field accredited by the gov. and must apply health and safety measures as well in my line of work... The best way to clean a toaster oven is to stay on top of it and never allow it to get this bad. I say this from experience. My TO was so bad when I moved, I just threw away a perfectly working oven. I was so overwhelmed with it. I’ve owned two since and both stayed clean throughout their lifetimes. One just stopped working. As soon as a little buildup or crumbs start. It gets a thorough cleaning. Then it takes about 5 minutes. Same for microwaves and ovens. I learned my cleaning lessons the hard way.😅😅

I rarely use the full size oven as this does the trick for small trays of grilled veg or a couple of pieces of fish. And yes - it definitely keeps the house much cooler. It’s not too difficult to clean if grime isn’t allowed to accumulate. A little paste of barkeepers friend on splatters immediately after use and it easily rinses & wipes clean. Cheers!

Bravo!!! I also have a keen attention to and for detail. Kitchen appliances IMHO ought NEVER get as greasy, grimy, or have BAKED ON, encrusted residual gunk burned on. I have vastly different characterization of what “PROPERLY” clean is. Have always gone high end with kitchen appliances. Wolf, Viking, Sub Zero, and Kitchenaid etc. Special ordered a Kitchenaid 1800W digital Convection countertop toaster over in a Bimini Caribbean Turquoise Blue for my better half. It was over $600.00. My profession kept me away on the West Coast of the USA, then, 14 months on the other side of the globe. The poor appliance looks as if it has never been cleaned!!! I am happy to see how yours came out. May dive into next week! Thank you so much for your post!

What about the vents on the inside? Mine personally have more then this one had, but I’m terrified of spraying dawn or mister clean onto that side because I would basically be spraying it into all the in workings of the machine. Is this safe for that

I have the same question. My oven is similar, I'm scared I'd ruin it!

You could always just think of it as "seasoned" and leave it alone as long as it's not smoking when you cook with it. Mine is grungy but works fine. So tricky not to get liquids into the heating elements. Don't want it to short out or worse. But you don't have to use the sprayer for many products. If it's non-aerosol just shake if directed to and open the container and pour onto a sponge or rag and apply by wiping onto the surface. If it is a pressurized aerosol can, just spray into some container (maybe outdoors) to get the liquid and apply by hand into tricky crevasses. Use cotton swabs or whatever to wipe it out dry. Don't risk getting liquid into the electrical parts. I would sure like to have seen what happened when the machine in the video was finally plugged in and turned on. BTW, those trays were in backwards at the start and end of the video. Seems like the rounded edges would have gone toward the rounded back of the machine interior.

I wouldn't use Dawn Powerwash on the interior of anything that will be heated up or in contact with food. It ruined my oven door because it soaked in and couldn't be properly rinsed out enough because it is SO concentrated.

Dawn Professional Power Disolver Spray. It comes in a white spray container. I tried to link a picture, but it would not link. My daughter worked at a chain restraurant and they used this to clean the pot/pans. She told me about it and now I use it on everything. It is not a strong odor and can be used indoors. Nice job on the toaster oven

Let dry fully before plugging back in and using. Leave the door open and sit for 24 hours if you want to be super safe.

I wrecked my crumb tray, insert cooking tray, and air fryer basket with rust, so my stuff falls straight to the oven floor. I wish i had money to replace it, my oven/stove got unplugged and it'll be a nightmare moving the fridge, etc to get it plugged back in (plus that oven doesnt work right, so its just the stove.) I hope I can manage cleaning it, im not patient about chores. (I have hopeless depression and no motivation, so it's easy to give up.) 😩

It took me an hour of my precious time on earth to clean my brand new, big toaster oven and the trays even after spraying them with non-stick cooking spray. I had cooked my first chicken wings in it. (I actually think the spray made the cleaning more difficult because of the heat baking it on due to the close proximity of the heating elements). I won't do that again. From now on all the trays including the faux non-stick trays and accessories are going in the dishwasher maybe after soaking a bit? The inside will be wiped out but virtually impossible to clean it spotless after grease spatters everywhere. Can't even put foil on the drip/crumb tray because it's too close to the heating elements and the foil threatens to touch them. Forget it. It will get "seasoned" like my old one is (and I'm keeping that btw). It still works great for pizza, fries, chicken tenders etc. There is a toaster oven with a mostly non-stick interior on Amazon and it has concealed heating elements so would be easy to clean except people complained the bottom was not easy at all because it is ceramic and it cooked the meat juices to a blackened mess and you CANNOT put foil on it while cooking. They also complained about other things too. I had the machine in my house and it was way too complicated to operate it and it kept turning itself off. Sent it back. Thanks for the tips in this video. Will definitely start using dishwasher detergent for soaking n such. Somebody needs to make a toaster oven with a self-clean cycle like my big range oven has. Life is too short.
