Antique Bottle cleaning. Attempting to remove white sickness film on old bottles found at a bottle dump using Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating.
Once again I take my metal detector out for another exciting treasure hunt. Hopefully the location i choose today will be loaded with coins and other amazing treasures. I am always on the hunt for rare or old coins. Old silver coins are always my main goal on every metal detecting hunt. My son Tyler got my hooked on metal detecting about a year ago and I’ve been metal detecting ever since. Since then I have been on the hunt for rare treasures in the ground. In my videos, you will see me treasure searching old parks or pin pointing at old schools or possibly digging in a the woods for old bottles and sometimes scavenging down a creek looking for arrow heads. I use the Garrett AT Max and Garrett pin pointer. I use an Anaconda NX-6 shovel to dig the holes. I record videos with the Apple iPhone 13 Pro and GoPro 10. I use a Brute 1200 LB magnet for magnet fishing. I am a proud Canadian detectorist and treasure hunter up here in good old Canada.

Note: I am very careful to not dig up nicely landscaped sports fields or very nice landscaped parks during my videos. I try to stick to areas that are not nicely landscaped. I fill every hole properly to make sure there are no pedestrian injuries and to make sure i don't cause any issues with the city. I am a very responsible detectorist.

That stuff cleaned them up pretty well, Frank, they're definitely displayable now! Like Darcy from Kep Valley says, tumbling is often the only way to remove serious "sickness" from glass. That product did very well!💖

I do want to purchase a tumbler for any really great bottles I find. Using the tumbler on a $1 bottle won’t make sense. Yes this cleaning product will do for now.

Like 6 hello friend that thing is strong, it cleans the botlles well may be and you leave it longer and it removed all the white.

If it’s mineral scale it will come off but often that white haze is chemical etching of the glass where it’s actually breaking down and components of the glass leaching out. The only cure is tumbling where the rough micro thin layer is ground down with special abrasives and compounds by spinning a cylinder with the bottle and treatment inside on a machine for a length of time. An expensive investment in equipment and materials so most often it’s the higher end stuff getting the treatment. Did a decent job! Looks like most of it was mineral scale if it improved that much. Yeah, I do want to get a tumbler,but it would only be used for the good bottles. No sense spending $5 to tumble a bottle if the bottle is only worth $1. I tried using this stuff on a couple bottles that have a lot of sickness and it didn’t really work well. But any light sickness, it seems to clean them up very good. Thanks Darcy.
