Damn I'd love to work with you at your shop. I have a passion for this stuff but unfortunately I live in Pennsylvania.

Transferring the tape to a VHS shell sounds tricky but thankfully i DO! Have a beaten up VHS cassette case i can transfer the reels into. I do not have a generva tape cleaner or a VHS player in my possession to use, I'm sure charity shops occasionally get them in...if all fails eBay yields interesting results. The only VHS Device i have is my beautiful 1988 Ferguson Videostar FC08 Full Height Camcorder.....the tolerances are super tight anyway. My owm Beta machine also needs a TONNE of restoration work as it was saved from a Skip. But I'm pretty good with Electronics and Mechanical bits. Just recently fixed the eject mechanism on it by replacing a rubber belt! 😄 Slowly getting there....the heads do need a lot of attention though.
