Great video! Followed your instructions and my hat looks like new again. Thanks! I also implemented another useful option when drying my hat. I used a common balloon to block the hat. Just gently blow-up the balloon inside the hat until it is snug (but don't over do it) and tie it up and let the hat dry. The hat will keep its shape perfectly.

Just used this today to clean my favorite hat! Great vid and technique, I set mine up on a container in the laundry room, with a box fan next to it- that was only like 2 hrs ago and it’s already almost dry, and looks brand new!

I have to respectfully disagree; Laundry detergent is not more powerful than laundry detergent. In my experience Laundry detergent has always worked better for me than laundry detergent.

Did This with my white stetson cap, Im a crane trucker from norway, wich means i have to work with rusty chains and grease everyday, my cap was almost red but now its not Perfect but it managed to clean it so it looks almost new again, thanks for the help

Word of the wise. Do not use detergents with anything like bleach or that black cap will quickly become brown. Also try and buy polyester caps, cotton fades with sweat and direct sun exposure. So does poly cotton over time. Great video, I just thought I would add my personal experience with bleach based detergents.

I’m a little hesitant only because i don’t want to mess any of my hats up. They’re pretty clean over all except the sweat stains that start to show up on gray under brims. Honestly want to get some of the odor out as well. Will this be effective in saving the color of the hats?

Way I wash my caps - 1. Bit of Fairy (dish soap) neat on the inside & front of hat over stains. 2. Leave for at least an hour. 3. Put in washing machine with your normal load (30c) and done. Never had any issues & hats like new ✌️

thank you! In my experience, it damages the fabric, damages the shape, it can affect the color of the hat. That's why I prefer indirect light

I have my caps near the radiator, in the summer near open windows. In direct sunlight can easily fade the colour.

Something like Vanish (pink bottle over here) is good, do read the instructions. But as I commented on the main wall, dish soap rubbed into the stain, leave it a minimum of an hour, wash in machine with similar colours like normal, 30c or less.

Can i just spray on a stain remover and soak it afterwards? I'm in college and cannot really leave anything in the sink or use the sink for cleaning hats so I'd like to use the alternative method but instead just spraying oxi clean on the hat, scrubbing it with a toothbrush, and rinsing it throughly. Would this method work as well?

Use shampoo instead of dish detergent!! Shampoo will remove the oils in the sweat better than detergents!

Stain remover wont even fix mine. I've tried that and machine washing. It's useless. The stains are just the same colour as the hat just darker but no matter what they won't clean out. I don't get it.

im nasty. i take my caps into the shower with me and throw a lil shampoo on them and let it dry and use next day lol i sweat everyday, allot. i just need hats that dont loose their shape due to humidity sweat and etc.
