I'd like to have you as a neighbor. Very knowledgeable, great video brother! I own 3 rav4. Two are 2002 and just bought a 2018 model. One of my 2002 has 525,500 miles on it and still strong.

I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but I’d love to have a conversation about the type of maintenance/up keep you did to get your car to that many miles. I’m 20 and I own a 2003 rav4 with 220k miles and I wanna get it to last as long as possible

I did just what you showed,and what a difference it made to my engine,no misfire and runs ,idle,very nice and quiet.thx.

Peter Finn Thank you! We fixed it today but it was really hard getting the hose back on over the butterfly! We did it tho! My car hasn’t run this smoothly in years!

I just took the hose off the throttle body I didn't take the other stuff off. Make sure your car is cooled down though cause I bumped my arm in to the little tee connector for the radiator hoses and got a nice molten shower :)

Help!! My 2001 rav4 doesn't shift to third gear on the road. It just accelerate but does engage the speed.. I already check the sl2 solenoid and it was ok. Changed the oil and filter and problem persists. I have codes for the airfuel sensor. Which I'm planning to change. I have to accelerate so reverse engage too.

Thanks for your several videos, Peter! i have the same '01 rav4 (same red color , i think) and it runs good but is hard to start...just takes too much cranking and if I let off the ignition key it sputters and does not start. So long as I hold the cranking long enough until it fires, car runs great! no check engine light. lots of guesses...fuel pump or screen or both, fuel pressure regulator , maf or iaf sensor, etc. in cold weather when i pull up to a light idle bogs way down and gets a little uneven but then recovers... engine does not quit. thought this would be a good place to start without spending a lot. Again, thanks so much!

Mine was misfiring, felt like it may stall at stop light and very rough idle in park, but no starting issues. I just cleaned the MAF (so easy) and it’s running like a little gem now. Quiet, my exhaust was terribly smelly and no odor now! None. I had my exhaust system replaced thinking that would help the smell but it’s the MAF sensor the whole time!! Mine is an ‘05 with 167k miles

Would you recommend spraying a can of Sea Foam in the in the throttle body while it's running to remove the carbon (black stuff) on the inside of the engine?

Already used one of your videos to clean my MAF sensor after getting a P0171 code. Thank you so much for that! My engine still likes to act like it's going to die though when I am coming to a stop so I'm wondering if you'd recommend this as a possible fix, or if you think it's likely something else? I have a spray LIQUI MOLY throttle valve cleaner. In the instructions it says the engine should be running at 2000 RPM with throttle valve exposed (like in your video) and I should spray that into the throttle body while the engine is running. Is it OK to do this with RAV4? Or will the engine malfunction due to wrong data from sensors?

Great job! I have a question ... if the carburettor cleaning fluid (along with the carbon dirt) goes inside the intake while cleaning, will it cause any harm?

You have to run the car at 4000 rpm and spray it at the same time ,so the cleaning solution comes out of the exhaust

Attention **** Two issues. Never use 1. a metal screwdriver in your throttle body 2. carburetor cleaner, only use throttle body cleaner.

Rav4 2013 i clean the maf sensor then the truck feel shudder like rumble strips 25 mph sometimes ok then i told my mechanic to clean the throttle body,when he cleaned the throttle body 2 days after the transmission when i stop then put gas feel like breaks o stop but still running, so be careful, rav4 2013 electronic body be careful guys

He did not understand your point. LOL. I did. IMHO the unscrewing and lifting up parts and then putting them back correctly is what you are paying for, not the cleaner spray. Personally, I do NOT wish to do it. But the dealership recommending it on a 2016 RAV with 27000 miles and NO starting or idle issues is questionable.
