Hi Stan loved your video and just had to subscribe, this has to be the best way to clean the wheat video I've seen so far.

I'm glad you commented, the flow of air pulls the dust and husk up while gravity pulls the wheat down, it's very simple and works very well. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Stan Stallings can you use this technique to clean chaff and straw from wheat?
@williamwoods2914 жыл бұрын
worked great, we had some 22 year old wheat with weevil carcasses as well. Cleaned it right up.

I'm happy to hear that, I've got some new wheat that I'm tempted to run it through to clean it better also. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!

Cool design! I need to assemble one of these for cleaning multiple grain species, so I’m thinking of making one with an extra Y-fitting at the top. The vacuum would attached to one branch of the top Y, and the other branch would have a cap on the end with hole cut into it that’s paired with a rotating plate that could be adjusted to up- or down-regulate suction in the main drop tube. The idea is suction could be dialed in for grains of varying sizes/masses/densities.

Is there a screen to keep the wheat going down, or just the gravity?

Do you have a list of the parts you used and how they go together

Stan that was really entertaining. I knew a family that litterly picked through bugs from chick peas in a bucket to make soup. I declined their offer of lunch. Anything on getting rid of wasps with vacuum? Safely?

A bug that just eats wheat is only more protean, but I don't want to eat it either but I don't like throwing away my wheat when weevil gets into it, so I made the cleaner. When it comes to wasps maybe get a 20 foot section of 1 1/2" ABS sewer line, insert the vacuum into one end and suck up the wasp at the other end. That should give you enough time to run if one should get free. Thank you for your comment and Thank you for watching.

Stan do you have a parts listing for the Wheat cleaning pipes you rigged up

I was planning on creating another video but I haven't had time, so here is a list of parts. A(3"X 3"X 1 1/2" Y) ( 2 foot section of 3" Pipe) (2 foot section of 1 1/2" pipe) (1 1/2" 45 degree short sweep) (3" to 2" reducer) (4" to 2" reducer) ( 2" to 1 1/2" reducer) Cut the pipes as needed and assemble. I hope this helps. I will be doing a video in the following months. Thank you for watching.

Great job sir. But for more thorough cleaning i would suggest to clean using 2 washes of water which would also wash the dust clinging with the wheat surface. That is how I do it at home. Good video

Thank you for your comment. I haven't wanted to wash it do to If you don't get it dry again then you have problems storing it if it's not completely dry. So far it's been very clean to the touch and seamed clean when handling. It's always good to eat clean food. Thank you for watching.

Stan Stallings Drying it is altogether another reason to wash it. Because if you dry it in sunlight it enhances the nutritional value of grain. I hope this helps. Thanks for your reply

Thank you for that information. Thank you for watching!

Does it clean from stones also ? Assuming the stone is the same size of the grain ?

will this take out wild oats?
@StanStallings6 жыл бұрын
No! It's about cleaning out dead bugs. You need to go to a mill and have it screened out. good luck!

You should have flash freezed the wheat to begin with. Any larva present would not be able to hatch out. Also, I think I would have put some whole bay leaves in the top of the bucket after cleaning.
