My morning routine: put on my hazmat suit, sink the retainer in a 500 gallon tank of military grade acids (I've checked with my dental lady - it's fine), floss and brush as usual, drink water through a straw, use a pressure washer to clean the retainers, rinse with cool, distilled water, and I'm done.

I personally clean my Invisalign aligners each evening while I eat supper using an ultrasonic cleaner and a Polident tablet. When I'm done eating, after brushing and flossing, I rinse my aligners well and brush them with a soft toothbrush. Maybe this is overkill, but my the first week with only rinsing and brushing my aligners, they developed an odor. Since I've been using Polident with an ultrasonic cleaner daily, that problem has been eliminated. But of course, ymmv.

(Done with my treatment) I used a simple non-abrasive white toothpaste like Arm & Hammer once a day without any issues. My trays remained very clean. And once a week I used efferdent. Now I do the same with my permanent nightly retainers. I tried an ultrasonic bath at one point but it was a lot of maintenance, took up precious counter space, and ended up breaking after a few months, so I think simple brushing and efferdent does just fine!

What maintenance did you have to do with the ultrasonic cleaner? I've never used one. Did you have a small one like she posted a link to? Or did you have one of those toaster oven sized ones?

@@kristfur Mine wasn't that huge, it was about the same size as the one she linked to, but I do have a small bathroom with limited counter space so every inch matters! Maintenance-wise, it was minor, but it's another thing to clean. Gunk and mineral deposits would kinda build up over time. By the time my broke (it simply quit turning on after maybe 4 months), I didn't feel like the cleanliness was superior to simple brushing and efferdent, so I decided not to get another after that. YMMV!

My one of the attachment is broke after 20-25 days , and my next appointment is next week , so is it ok to wear the aligners without that one attachment, and do dentist cost extra for new attachment???

Mine doesnt charge for broken attachments, and you should call your orthodontist (or whoever you got your treatment from) and discuss whether it can wait or you should come

Wow I had been brushing those with toothpaste washing them with like warm water and soaking them in hydrogen peroxide ( I was told by dentist office to put it in hydrogen peroxide) and mix with water

soaking in peroxide is good! always follow your dentist's instructions since different aligners may have different instructions. hope this helps!

My dentist actually said brushing it with toothpaste was fine if I wanted. Is a little bit of toothpaste okay? Because im scared to get soap in my mouth by accident

IMO toothpaste is fine, my dentist said the same. To avoid soap in your mouth, the rule of thumb is to rinse "5" times.

Question: Is it possible that a Waterpik water flosser could damage the clear Essix retainer if you used it on it to try to remove any accumulated plaque? (I am referring to the Waterpik water flosser that has a tank, rather than the hand-held device, which has fewer settings). If you used it at a high jet setting, the pressure might it make it more vulnerable to potential fractures (e.g. make it more brittle permanently, although I don't really see how....I don't know)? OR- it wouldn't really damage the plastic because it is just water? Please let me know your opinion. Thank you 🙏

Best to use one without added dyes or fragrances. That said, even when rinsing well, it's common to have a tiny bit of "soap" aftertaste. At least that was my experience.

I personally use one Polident 3-Minute Denture Cleaner tablet in my ultrasonic bath. I'm on my 6th set of Invisalign trays and that's been working well for me so far.

hey, ik it's not related to video but i just got off my braces after two years and i told my ortho that my teeth aren't straight, and they're not even in the center, she said that it's just cuz they have different shape, and that may be true but they're clearly NOT in line and it really irritates me cuz for me it's pretty noticable😭.what should i do?

I personally use hydrogen peroxide and water. Make sure it's is equal parts or there is more water and rinse well with water. It has helped with staining for me with a ultrasonic machine.

Be sure to put a stop or fine strainer in the sink drain, so your investment doesn't go down the drain.

I am gonna vomit. You ain’t cleaning anything with water 🤮🤮🤮🤮. Use soft toothbrush and clean with a spot of toothpaste. Sterilize with baking soda occasionally especially if you’ve sick. My permanent aligner is sparkling clear.
