Lovely video. Clean bike is a joy to ride. I like to remove the seat and wipe down separately. Also allows good access to the air blower which blasts out the resting water in the area, engine bay, and nut recesses.

after watching your vid, first time with jetwasher today, as so many differing opinions on them lol. i used clear water, then snow foam, then rinsed, and was surprised just how clean it came up (even the wheels) before using a microfibre glove to get the heavier stuff off, but there wasn't too much to worry about. imho as long as you dont pressurise the water too much and dont point it anywhere obviously silly it's no problem. I have a variable adjustment on my karcher nozzle so lowish pressure is good. TX

Mate totally agreed, there are so many purists that are like "that will wash the grease out of your bearings" 🥸but if you lower the pressure, and back off a bit of distance between the jetwash lance and the bike, it's no more powerful than a garden hose anyway. I just use a bit of common sense with it, as do you! Glad you enjoyed the video mate. Enjoy your nice clean bike, and don't forget to subscribe for more bike related content! Good video... Nothing worse than having a cheeky winter ride, put it away, only to find parts corroded next time you ride. The salt and grit is like acid!! It east through bikes...

Great video and nice bike!! I have a 2015 Street Triple RX and this has been really useful in the way I'll think about cleaning it. A friend recommended a Bruhl Dryer, which I have bought but haven't used yet, but like in your situation great for cleaning, drying and ACF50'ing all in one go. I must ask though, where did you get your handlebar mirrors? The standard mirrors on my RX are horrible, little bit of contact and the arm moves and there is very little movement of the actual mirror. I have searched on line but haven't had much luck and really don't know which are good or not. If you could suggest/recommend some I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Hey @jimlayland4161 thanks for stopping by the channel! So my mirrors are HJR, a UK brand with really great quality and they are a steal at a little over £40! I actually have some genuine triumph chrome ones as well that I didn’t like as much (too shiny). They are hard to come by these days the genuine ones. Yeah I could really do with a dryer, how much is the Bruhl Dryer? Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!

Hi @@sweet-triple-UK Already subscribed ;-) Very reasonable from Sportsbikeshop, the cheapest on the Bruhl site is £129 but SBS is £98.98. I went for the MD1900+ with heat and have reliably informed this is more than enough even for a BMW 1250 GS. Thanks for the link I'll check it out 👍

I actually don’t commute on the bike that much as I WFH a lot, but I do ride in all weather, and have to keep the bike clean as UK roads are not kind to bikes.

Is it ok to use kerosene to clean the chain?

YES, it’s actually the way I clean the chain when I run out of spray I’ve got a large container of it, just paint it on the chain with an old paint brush, works REALLY well and is MUCH cheaper than the spray!

I watched a video earlier and the cleaning the chain recommended using kerosene!! Did a really good job cleaning it too.

just thought id give an opinion i heard from a few biker vloggers, and they basically said they don't get too hung up on cleaning the chain, just wiping debris off now and again, just oiling so as to keep a layer of protection and not use chemicals too often on the o-rings. I don't really know what to think as i can see the logic, but also see the logic of removing dirt to potentially reduce wear and make it run better. maybe i'll look into it a bit more, but upto now i keep giving it a proper clean and stick to the plan, but don't really like cleaning anything lol, id just rather do the minimum and buy a new chain and sprockets maybe a tad quicker than normal as they aint that expensive, but any opinions are welcome !!

@@Bob-ts2tu Interesting, I've also seen some say that chains are internally lubricated anyway so no need to lube either. Which kind of makes sense if there is no salt or muck on your roads. However here in the UK the chain defo needs protecting. I have to be honest, I couldn't bare to see the black sludge slime all over my chain all the time, gotta keep that gold chain bling! So I'll keep cleaning mine. Thanks for watching and commenting mate!

@@sweet-triple-UK no prob. if i remember, it was mainly adventure bike riders that cleaned less, and the idea was that the build up offered protection and cleaning too often removed it, but like you i don't like to see my chain too yucky, but i know i don't clean it anywhere near as often as some. @@chrishall9625 I don't think you watched the full video mate, I addressed this. The jetwasher goes on low power (not much more powerful than a garden hose) and I avoid the bearings, electronics, rad fins etc and also keep my distance. But lets face it you didn't comment to be constructive now did you 😂? Go and watch the professional bike valeter on 44 teeth channel (great channel if you haven't found it already), see what he does that's where I got my exceptional bike cleaning skills from! Going to do a full detail next time. I'm sure you'll come along to watch! 🤣
