do i do this with it still connected to unit while letting ir run for a minute and then take it all apart and air dry ????

@@rwoods7979 I take the very top part off (just the part containing the blades, not the base). Also let me add, there is no need to fully remove each blade, you can leave them locked in there. In a plastic cup i put a couple squirts of dawn and fill it with hot water. I let the blades soak for about 10 min. I then reattach the blade section to the base and I dunk it in the soapy water and run it for about 10 seconds. (Careful not to submerge the electrical part of the razor). Then take the blade section off again and rinse thoroughly and also rinse thoroughly the base that the blades attach to. Dry as much as possible with a paper towel and I leave it apart to sit over night to further air dry. That's my method and it seems to work perfect. No smell, keeps it very clean and they look new.

OK I’ll give it a shot but the way skull shaver shows the clean it is the let it sit in the container of water and run for a few minutes and then let it air dry but you’re saying don’t do that?

@@rwoods7979 I tried that and it didn't seem to work for me. Eventually it started to get this constant musty smell that would never go away. I don't think water alone can get rid of the oils from your head, dead skin cells, etc. that transpose themselves onto the blades. It also won't remove any bacteria that starts to form in the blade head area. Something else is needed and Dawn dishwashing soap has worked perfectly for me. I've been doing it for nearly a year now and I no longer get that musty smell. I really wish the manufacture would look into this more and update their instructions.
