Mine went a long time without cleaning...lime scale all inside tank. Used straight white vinegar and let it soak inside the water tank for 45 minutes or so; change vinegar...use plastic scouring sponge...rinse...repeat as needed. Works very well! Sanitizes too!

I also soaked my "honeycomb cooling media" (buff colored thing) in my tub; enough water to cover it and 1/2 gallon white vinegar. Soak 1 hour minimum, rinse, drain and replace in unit. Helps get rid of moldy smell.

I have this same cooler. It's excellent and cools a large space quickly. The only downside is they are noisy, even on the lowest setting.

I got one of these from a friend. My unit leaks water as soon as it drips onto the honeycomb filter from the icebox. Any ideas?

You have that plastic grate thing (the thing he hosed down last) on the inside. I did this because it looks like it's there to hold the pad against the back. But it belongs facing out for some reason. It doesn't seem to have a purpose but oh well.

The cleaning of the fan and the lubrication of the engine were lacking, of course, you have to get all that shit to work that
@brendan.19793 жыл бұрын
What would you lubricate it with? The fan itself is just the drum, but the engine is just a fishtank pump at the bottom.

I wrote out what I do...use white vinegar (7/29/2021)

@@brendan.1979 Alvin Pitti's concern on fan cleaning is valid. Overtime, tha fan blades are coated with thick dust. Also, believed that Alvin was enquiring about fan lubrication.

How often are these cleaned? Do they need to be replaced? If so, where to get the replacements?

@whosyourdaddy45793 жыл бұрын
.Depends how much you use it and conditions you live in...manual says once every 1 - 2 months or sooner. Drain tank once a week. the "cooling media" clean every 1 - 2 months.
