Yes - the blanket clip is for horses in medium work and is OK for competitions. My personal opinion is that for shows the hunter clip looks the best, but it is not required if your horse is only in medium work.

Hazel has a very good eye for lines! I wish the horses I clipped were as good as this boy!!

Thanks - I will pass on your comments to Hazel. The horse is her own horse - Basil. He was very patient when we made the videos. He first had a trace clip on one side which was then changed to a blanket clip. Then Hazel did a hunter clip on the other side. The finally Hazel went back to the first side to changed the blanket clip to a hunter clip. A good horse !

I've watched all these videos and they were all so helpful! also gave me an idea of what clip i should have on my loan pony because of the description of what kind of work the horse should be in. Also a very well-behaved horse! :)

I am not familiar with harness track horses ... but if he is sweating really badly I guess that he may be best with a hunter clip. I have done a video which shows how to do a hunter clip but KZfaq will not allow me to put the link in this comment. Is this clip best suited for horses in medium work? Will it be alright for shows?

Great videos! You mentioned you were using Lister stablemate clippers, I can't seem to find these online. What other clippers would you recommend? I need something that will easily get through wooly native breeds coats. Thanks :)

+buttonslin I believe that the Lister Stablemate clippers that Hazel was using in the videos has been superseded by the Lister Star clippers. I produced the videos and although I own a horse I have never clipped a horse myself so I would not like to recommend clippers. I know that Hazel clips a lot of horses and she needs very good quality, strong and reliable clippers and she has chosen to use Lister clippers.
