your video seriously guided me from start to finish for my first ever going brunette. I watched a ton and this is the one that I understood the most. I have always been a blonde so this was a BIG DEAL, lol! I love that you used Sally's products because they are easy to go get for the normal shopper too. The one thing I wish had been shown was how to use the filler. I had gotten kind of confused on the directions but I did end up figuring out. Other than that, My hair turned out amazing so thank you SO SO much for making this tutorial! Im now a subsriber!

Hi! I just read your comment and I was wondering what products you picked at Sally's?? I to have been blonde my whole life. Born a toe head and platinum blonde for 27 yrs. I am now 48 and it washes me out and makes me look older and cheap ha ha!!! I am now a dark blonde level 6. But I have access to a Sally's and would like to check out the products you had success with. Thanks, Chrissy

@@chrissy1310 I am 49 and a lifelong blonde just like you, I am literally watching videos how to do this for the same reasons lol. I am definitely washed out looking and honestly don't think I look as good as I did when I was younger and loved my blonde life. I've seen so many people look less washed out in the after videos, plus I'd love to try it, I'm looking for any negatives, like the lights root grow out or if it really fades, or how hard to go back natural while waiting for it to grow out if I don't really like it after all. Did you stay brown?

@@TarynToday haha, I am 45 and a natural brunette who has been heavy highlighting for a couple years, but tired if the roots always showing... Would like to go back brunette but when I tried it I looked washed out, older and pastier with brown hair! So... I think we just have to change our perception of ourselves! Lol I a m trying to figure out now whether to try to go back brown again or get more highlights but it's really taken a toll on my hair.

I've been searching through so many tutorials on how to do this and yours is by far the best. So many other channels went really quickly over the products to the point where it was super confusing and nerve wracking. It's clear you know what you're doing and you showed it in a way people who don't know anything about color theory can understand. Thank you!!

A lot of great info! I used to dye my hair dark brown all the time at home, then I went to the salon and went all over blonde and it damaged my hair tremendously and it was so $$$. So I decided I was going back to my natural color. The girl didn't use filler or anything and I was a platinum blonde (minus my roots level 5/6) but now I'm left with a weird ashy, grey, green brown and I hate it... I spent $70 for that... so disappointing! I should've just went back to dying my hair at home. Lesson learned! Lol thanks for the tips girl! 😘

A red based brown like chestnut brown or adding an R colour to your blonde , like 6rb,light reddish brown when going dark would suffice too , even semi colour,small amount,and some bond repair additive maybe,all in same mixture, you could then adjust to other browns or darker blonde if you wanted but nice🎉

@NativeNYerChicHK
@NativeNYerChicHK 3 жыл бұрын
Well, since bleached hair is so porous, rising the filler, out those ends won’t hold the protein, you’ll just be rinsing the majority of it out. The color of the filler might stay somewhat but the actual protein (which is why you’re using it) will be mostly gone. Your best bet for lasting color on those porous ends is to NOT rinse that filler out before dying it. I would bet my life that those who rinse the filler before coloring their hair to their desired brunette richness, their ends fade rather quickly. And then they’re left chasing that color they wanted, whether it be by having to dye it again and again (further damaging already damaged hair) or trying to give it a punch of color with continued toners or a glazes. So you shouldn’t ever rinse a protein filler out before applying the dye.

Red combats green... Choose a light copper brown or a reddish brown to cancel the ash which is green. The shade of brown you want, buy a shade one step lighter with a warm red undertone. Should work... You can use a semi permanent or Demi until you find the exact shades that work for you. It's fades and is easier to correct I think if you needed to. Good luck to you!

I watched some people using the red filler. I wanna dye my hair brown but afraid that it fades to reddish or orange color. What do you think?
@SoulBeauty
@SoulBeauty 6 жыл бұрын
My hair just faded to a lighter neutral brown. My hair pulls a lot of red when I lift it with bleach so I don’t need to put red back into it when going dark or it goes Auburn. It depends on your own hair and the underlying pigments.

@SoulBeauty
@SoulBeauty 8 жыл бұрын
+vancelisa1 Bleach removes a lot of protein from you hair which helps hold onto color so it depends on how damaged your hair is. If your hair is relatively healthy, you only should need the filler when you're going from light to dark. If you notice your color is fading quickly, use protein filler again before re-coloring. If you like the exact color my hair turned out at the beginning, depending on your starting base color, I would use a permanent level 4 Neutral color.
