If you’ve received a police caution, you need to check with the US Embassy (posting a separate comment since previous commenters delete their thread when I advise them): uk.usembassy.gov/visas/ineligibilities-and-waivers-2/arrest-caution-conviction/

Will they still give you the esta even if you don't have a point of contact in the US. I'll give an example. Say you want to apply for your esta early before you've booked a hotel. Can you just leave the point of contact empty or is it required? Can you just put the city your want to go to and say you're going to book a hotel after you get your esta. Because some hotels take your money and won't give you a refund if you cancel your booking because you did receive your esta? Thanks for your video. It was very informative.

My pleasure, and I’m glad you found it helpful! I would recommend booking a hotel that does a “book now, pay later” option for payment. You can filter hotels on sites like Expedia like that, and I know Hilton hotels have rates that allow you to do that. Or, if you know for sure you’ll book that one particular hotel on the basis of getting your ESTA you could put down their details. I don’t recall anyone having to submit proof at this point, only on arrival. When you do check in for your flight, however, you will be required to include where you will be staying in the US. They only ask for one location, but when you arrive in the US they may ask to see more info, so just have that on hand.

US VISA required if the visited North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria or if they’re dual nationals of Iran or Iraq. Not affected for Dual Iranian Canadians for visiting USA without visa.

Hi again. I just wanted to ask in the point of contact section can you put a relative's details instead of where you actually want to go. Example i have an uncle in Virginia but I want to holiday in New York? Do think that would be okay. Or does your point of contact have to be where you are going?

They just need details of how to contact you while in the US. A lot of people use their ESTA more than once, so the original contact details will likely have changed for most people. I know people who have also put down relatives and it was fine. When you do check in for your flight for the US, however, they do need to know where you’ll be staying, so you would need to put where you’re staying in NY on that occasion.

I’ve heard of this happening to those using Microsoft Edge as their browser, but were able to work around this by using Chrome. If you still can’t get it to work, you could try putting your application through iVisa, who are a reputable third-party: www.ivisa.com/usa/esta?

I had one US visitor visa refused in Jan 2017 before getting UK citizenship in 2022, can I get an ESTA?

That’s a good question! As a U.K. citizen you’re eligible to apply for an ESTA, but you would likely need to declare that you’ve had a previous US visa refused (even as a citizen of another country) and they may hold that against you. The application will ask you if you’re a citizen of another country, too. In that case, you may be required to apply for a visitor visa. You may benefit from using a visa service to help you with your application and the process given you’ve had a refusal in the past, and you can check this company out: www.ivisa.com/usa/b1b2-visa?

Does Esta work for citizens of Colombia? I don't see an option for Colombia on there website

Yup, there are many European countries which can get an ESTA for the US, but there are also other countries which qualify. The list keeps changing!

I’ve found out that there’s no need to wait for the esta to expire,the new application canceled the active but soon to expire one and gave me another 2 years from the day I apply again.👍
