Do you struggle to condition old blocks of polymer clay?
British Polymer Clay Guild committee member, Fiona Abel-Smith demonstrates how, in under two minutes, you can condition this crumbly clay into smooth, flexible, workable clay.

Great first video, the turning edges to the middle is very useful tip. Thanks Lizzi!

This video has helped me so much. The way I was doing it before took forever, seemed like I spent more time conditioning than making anything. This has cut down to less than half the time it took before. Thank you so much.

That was SO useful. I worked with some really crumbly clay today and it was a misery! Wish I'd seen this earlier. Thanks.

Thank you for a great video. Second time watching because like Anita Green I used a wider setting. Will give it another go!

Watching this for a second time Fiona, as I have three more blocks of horrendously old clay to deal with. I had forgotten to change my pasta machine setting to thinner. Arghhh! Oh well, at least I stopped by for another look after struggling (but still completing) two blocks of Fimo *soft*! Thank you again! Great video to refer back when required.

having trouble hearing, but wondered if you mentioned the pasta machine setting? Is it the 0 setting? Or a higher number.

I’m watching your crumbly clay tutorial but mine is way more crumbly!! Help!! I keep getting crumbs everywhere. Not able to fold as the crumbs just keep coming. Going to try adding a bit of conditioner. 😢😢

Unfortunately I don’t own a pasta maker, I did think that this video might contain other methods of conditioning/reviving the Fimo.

So sorry not to be what you were looking for, as you can see, this concentrates on using a pasta machine to help. You can however use gently body heat to start to warm it up, you can grate it into small pieces, then mix it up, or use a food processor to do the same, although of course, just like the pasta machine, you wouldn't then be able to use the equipment for food after you have used it for polymer clay. There are other KZfaq videos out there which will give you other tips and techniques, including using some of the manufacturer's own methods such as the 'mix quick' clay. I hope you find something that helps soon.

It looks so easy. Please speak louder? You seem to have a lovely voice but can't make it out. Thank you
