Yes, of course. The emulator replaces the original lock module, so it remains always connected.

Hi, I have 2006 bmw 320d e90 recently having problem starting the car. it won’t start. the key lock engages but when i press start button it does nothing, no sound except little like click. i had been driving the car almost 2 years with red steering lock warning sign until the car stopped starting since two weeks. when i scanned with OBD scan tool iCarsoft it says A112 ELV fault and A116 Critical status, el. steering lock. is this ELV problem that’s preventing car from starting? is extension included elv reset obd tool? Hello there, Yes, the ELV problem is preventing the car from starting. The extension cable is not included with the elv RESET tool, but you can plug the device directly into the OBD socket without any extension.

Hi there, if your E87's production date was before 12/2004, you need the 3PIN version. 12/2014 and onwards need the 4PIN version.

ok I ordered the one compatible with 4 pin, it says that pin 4 remains disconnected. Does it work on the 2004 bmw?

Hello, this is a long shot but I have a 2007 328i and the car battery died and I replaced the battery, got the red ELV light when I put the key in but that’s all I get the key doesn’t lock into place in the slot, and the instrument cluster does not turn on, except to show me the ELV light, I have power and the key locks and unlocks the door, but it doesn’t start or turn over and the thing that turns on is the radio. So my question is does it have anything to do with the ELV?

Hello there, Replacement of the dead battery only causes ELV problems when the ELV mechanism is close to its end of life. Please replace it with our emulator ASAP. If you cannot unlock the steering, you may also need our RESET tool.

Hi there, code 2e41 means the EWS-DDE syncronization problem, not the steering lock. You need to resync CAS and DDE in this case.

I have a 2007 328xi and I got the panel on the driver side open. Is the cable near the steering wheel or on the far left? Can't really tell from the video? Thanks!

Hi there, the 4-pin plug will be straight up (approx. 30 cm.) above the footwell air blower pipe on the steering column.

@Lilblind505 did you end up buying one? If so had did it work out for you and if not what did you do to fix the issue. My 07 335i has this light but it came on only after the battery became completely dead and had to be jumped. I replaced the battery and have been able to start and drive the car every since the light came on no problem. Hasn't stopped, locked or died on me with the light but that's my worry that out of nowhere it will. I was told I just need an alignment but haven't had the time yet to see if I can even get there and back ok and if the alignment will actually do much
