Also here are some tools and parts you can look through and a few other links. Do you check for 50 psi or 25 psi??
@GrantKeysProperties
@GrantKeysProperties 11 ай бұрын
You would need to check for your city. It changes from place to place because climate change, elevation, etc from area to area! 25 is bout right though, I believe for an average number. It can change a couple with temperature drop to. I have a pressure check video as well on my gas playlist! And a few others that can help.

Just ran across this video just wondering if they had a fitting if I wanted to cut a black iron pipe under a house and put a tee in pipe without threading it and run the flex pipe to put on another appliances ! Thank you ,,,,

Yes you can actually do a megapress fitting and not have to thread. You cut the pipe and sand the end to make sure it’s smooth then the magapress fittings push over it and then the megapress tool compresses the fitting on. You can rent the tool or they’re $1,500+ if you want to buy your own tool. Fittings are more expensive but they are handy.

Run your numbers on how many BTU your appliances will max out at and check pipe sizing charts for your type of gas to see if you should upgrade your trunk line to support the extra use.

Are you licensed to work on gas lines? or a licensed plumber ?
@GrantKeysProperties
@GrantKeysProperties Жыл бұрын
I am a house flipping expert. I buy old homes and fix them up. Because I buy in cash. I do not need a mortgage company to do inspections. I do all my own inspections. Therefore I fix everything that’s broken myself without notifying anyone and then I sell the property fixed with old grandfathered in rules code does not apply. I am also a realtor and list and sell my own properties selling only to cash buyers and conventional loan buyers at or near market price. Making everything I do, go fairly easy. I don’t have any license for anything other than real estate. That’s the way I roll. No license required though.

@@GrantKeysProperties First time working on gas line here. for the testing. do you pressure test isolate the new pipe without all the valves(including the main valve, appliance valves).
@GrantKeysProperties
@GrantKeysProperties Жыл бұрын
LOL. No it does not leak. It is working great actually and was approved by the city fire marshal and green stickered by the city and gas company, also passed a 48 hour pressure test my friend. Thanks for your concern though.
@GrantKeysProperties
@GrantKeysProperties Жыл бұрын
You can test it with or without the valves but you might as well do it with everything hooked up. Just turn all the valves off when testing! Good question. Hopefully this is helpful!

You should wear leather gloves. That stainless tubing, if it gets away from you, will cut through tendons to the bone. Gas should only be done by professionals
@JE27898
@JE27898 2 жыл бұрын
@@GrantKeysProperties I got where you’re coming from. To show that these materials are out there is fine. However, some things should be left to professional installers. As a plumber/pipe fitter, if someone does their own plumbing, which happens a lot, the worst thing happens is they get wet and there is some property damage. It’s all fixable. Gas……. BOOM . There’s no going back. If you attended a certification class, I applaud you. Many other “flippers” do not. Stock to things where nobody gets hurt I totally understand budgets and having to make a living
@Rangband1
@Rangband1 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t trust the “professionals” they take shortcuts and do shoddy workmanship. If you want it done right and be able to sleep at night you do it yourself. This goes with electrical plumbing gas framing roofing etc, almost no one these days is worth the risk. And IF you do hire a so called professional….question everything and verify yourself. And don’t think that just because you’re having an inspection done that you good. So many times inspectors just rubber stamp or let things slide for buddies in the business or are lazy and clueless themselves.
@JE27898
@JE27898 2 жыл бұрын
@@Rangband1 I’m sorry you haven’t had a good experience with any contractors in your area. I’m also surprised I’m even dignifying your asinine comment insulting true licensed contractors that also are insured AND do work according to code. If inspectors are rubber stamping work in your area and you are that pissed about it, why don’t YOU get involved in your local government and change the way things are done? It’s your right to watch what people are doing in your house/business. Question whatever you want. It’s your property. Any competent contractor wouldn’t mind you hanging out asking a reasonable question. Usually if it doesn’t seem right, it isn’t.

@@JE27898 oh I haven’t had any problems with them because I’ve always done my own work. I’m speaking from the experience of friends and family’s experiences with them literally nationwide lol, California, North Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana, to name a few. I didn’t say all but I will say the majority sadly. Hopefully you aren’t in that majority and I commend you if you are not. My most recent experience was a friend trying to get his basement finished and it took him 4 contractors to get one that was halfway decent and they were still steering him in the wrong direction on certain things. He too has learned the age old adage…”if you want it done right do it yourself”.

@@Rangband1 while it’s fine for the world to attempt certain things, that many more should only be performed by people with training( gas, electric, many Hvac items). Everyone wants to be a plumber or electrician. The worst thing that potentially happens with most plumbing is you get wet or a little dirty. Gas, however, is an entirely different story. I’m sorry your friends and family members have had those bad experiences. Better tradesmen and women become more ditto come by. Fortunately for us, we have a good reputation and relationship with all the 3rd party inspectors in our operating area. Not that we never do anything wrong, but we fix and keep moving. Inspectors here are just as responsible as we are for any missteps
