Thank you so much. I was having an issue syncing my new remote to my old Apple TV but you made me realize that I had to unsync the other remote first in order for it to work. ❤️❤️

I bought an Apple TV 2 w/o a remote, I watched countless videos to figure out how to control it, I eventually bought a generic Apple TV remote off of Ebay for cheap. I watched a few more videos in order to figure out how to sync it, and I can finally say that after watching this video I now have a working Apple TV remote! Thank you for your service!

Wait, will those 2gen/3gen aluminum remotes (like you show in video) work with newer Apple TV by default? (4th gen). I hate the touchscreen remote my Apple TV has.

Hi Gary, those remote work with gen2 and gen 3 by default yes. But if you are talking about apple tv gen 4. It work like at 90%. I remember that there is one fonction that doesn't work. But yes you are right, the touch remote is really stupid.

Worked immediately. Light on the Apple TV blinked when I pushed buttons so I knew the batteries worked. Sincing seemed to work, but didn’t. I downloaded the iTunes remote app, and that controlled the unit. Then watched your video and unsinced the remote and it now functions like it always used to. Thanks!

I washed my apple remote (not on purpose) so I bought a new one and thanks to your video telling that I first have to unsync first and then sync the new one I wasn't able to use. A million tks for your great information.

Hum. If mac still have their IR receiver that should be the same but since new remote work on bluetooth, I doupt they still have that technology in new Mac.
