Mr. CG, I am in need of a 3D walk through for 5 floors in a building. Roughly 7600sf each floor. This walk through would focus on walls and ceilings. I would like to go to any one wall or ceiling and show the work done (percentage completed) on that particular wall/ceiling. The work scopes are framing, drywall, insulation, taping finish. Are you interested? Also your video is well made and easily understood.

Thank you bro... you saved me tons of tons of work hours with this technic. Now I am wondering how you can explode the block after the pdf convert to AutoCAD file to maintain the ledge and dimension, lines, and words together but each set separate. I noticed when I explode the block even the notes, ledgers, arrows, words all get separated and it is a headache to type them all again. I hope you can help us to resolve it.

This is great instruction video... I just wonder if we can also convert pdf file to dwg without needing the scale to be specified? I have pdf noted as not to scale and im not sure how to put scale in that.
@thecadgeek
@thecadgeek 3 жыл бұрын
If you don't define a scale factor, a scale of 1:1 will be used. That means, if you're importing an 8.5" x 11" PDF, the resulting geometry in AutoCAD will be 8.5" x 11".

Do you have any videos on how to convert a pdf that is raster? I'm trying to find a way to do this without having to print and then scan the drawing back in. Can anyone else help with this? Thanks!
@thecadgeek
@thecadgeek 3 жыл бұрын
I've seen several add-ins over the years that claim to convert raster images to AutoCAD. My admittedly limited experience with them has been mediocre at best. While I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but I've found it easier to just reference the image/PDF into AutoCAD, and then tracing things manually. That said, Raster Design is now included with AutoCAD subscriptions, and adds some tools for converting raster to vector.

Hi CAD Geek (Sorry I wasn't able to catch up your name eventhough i tried a lot :)), I imported pdf dwg (which says is in 1:50 A3 and is in decimal mms) to AutoCAD by setting up scale of 50 (due to 1: 50), and my units are setup to decimal millimetres. But while verifying the measurements, its not matching. For example: for the measurement of 1500 mms , my measurement is showing just 28.56. can you please explain how to fix it? the only other option for me right now would be to make the the whole drawing to make it larger by giving scale of 1500 divided by 28.56. Do you think if there is any other simple solution which I should be doing? I will really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Hi, please Tell me how can i convert a PDF to dwg but to ne possible to keep the scale?! I don t know what version of Autocad to use because im begginer! Thank You!
@maggysantana3878
@maggysantana3878 3 жыл бұрын
before you explode the dwg, put it into scale. You need to use the common factor for the scale that is on your drawing. Example, if you drawing is 1/4" = 1'- 0" scale. Then before you explore it you type - scale - 48 - enter. Your drawing will be in the right scale. Then go ahead and explore it. Write these notes so you dont for get about it. Good luck in your project.
