I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THIS MAY BE WHAT IS CAUSING ROTISSERIE DRIVE DAMAGE AND BREAKING OF DRIVE SPINDLE AND GEAR... AND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT USE A 5 POUND CHICKEN ... I CLEARLY SHOW WHY ANYTHING BIGGER THAN A 4 LB CHICKEN IS TOO BIG IN THIS VIDEO!!!
This is a 4 Pound chicken (Which was almost too big!) using the rotisserie function and a wireless Thermometer called a Meater which works perfectly with a rotisserie set up because with no wires connecting it to the base you can insert it in the rotating chicken. Also please note at 12:45 the thermometer shows 154° briefly because I inserted Thermapen through to the open chest cavity of the bird...the meat was not that temp...thanks for stopping by to see "in the kitchen with Jelly007" !!!

Thank God you mentioned tieing up the chicken. I just learned a better way of tieing knot so it doesn't loosen up. I use a meat themometer after I open door but go to 185 or so, still very tender and juicy. Because at 165 some of breast and dumb sticks were a little bloody. It wasn't burnt on the outside, but nice and crispy. Absolutely amazing and delicious! That's just my opinion though. That's with my Baby George Foreman Rotisserie. Season salt is good on anything, but if you go to most grocery stores. Go to where they make rotisserie chicken or meat department and ask about the seasoning. They'll sell you some at a reasonable price.

This video is a prime example of why these types of appliances end up on a shelf in the garage.. you need to get to know your new appliance, just like your kitchen oven, sure you’ve noticed on food packaging ‘Oven temperatures may vary’ I tested my oven, it’s 23-25f cooler than the oven setting, yet my Vortex air fryer is 45-50f hotter than the setting. The seasoning for me sounds great but husband doesn’t eat the skin so he doesn’t taste it (yes he is the one that only eats boneless chicken breast not sure why I married him 🤣)

Nice looking chicken! Where do you find a 4 lb chicken. All the chickens where I shop are 5 lbs or more. I think they feeding them some steroids ir something..lol How did you secure the chicken to the rotisserie rod? The chicken is hallow.

The smaller chickens are in my grocers (publix) organic section... they have a section that is a few feet away from the normal chicken... those forks will hold the chicken on the rod and then tie them and they won't move... thanks for watching!!!

can you give a time stamp on where/why anything bigger than a 4lbs bird will break this? I skimmed 20 mins and couldn't find it lol
@JohnSanders
@JohnSanders 4 жыл бұрын
It is mainly the fact that a 5 pound or so chicken will contact the top or bottom when rotating and strip the drive...

love the video. however you should not be contaminating your timetable and other equipment by keep touching uncooked chicken and then equipment. Wash your hands after touching raw chicken and before touching anything else. Food safety is important.
