So I'm a little confused is this like pre-cooking the rice to be finished cooking later? I'm not understanding the terminology when you're referencing parboiled what are you meaning please?

It’s white rice that’s been partially cooked with the husk still intact. Then the husk is then removed later. It has more vitamins that plain old white rice, and is a little darker in color. It’s also called converted rice. I think Ben’s (formerly Uncle Ben’s) is probably the most popular brand in the US for it.

@@tiredapplestar yes Uncle Ben's, I use it for one of my Jamaican casserole that I make

No. This video is showing you how to cook converted rice that is a parboiled rice. Description for parboiled rice is above, under the commenter 'Tired'.

But this is the recipe for REGULAR rice too... not just parboiled rice. So what is the difference in parboiled rice and regular rice if it's not in the cooking? I'm confused. I thought cooking parboiled rice was different from cooking regular rice.

Parboiled rice 🍚 has been steamed Hot rinsed 🥵 And then steamed again And then dryed 🌬 It can take less time to final cook And It’s easier on digestion for elders and youngsters You shouldn’t need to rinse the parboiled rice (However I guess you can)

Yes, I don't understand the rinsing of parboiled rice, I never have and my rice has always come out perfectly. I love it for its none stickiness, flakes apart without and effort@@TheBomo

This is rice cooking, not parboiled rice for finishing later. Confusing.
