During the 1960s my mom was an RN and had to buy her own professional uniform clothing, including shoes. It was not like today where they just wear scrubs and sneakers. The hospitals even expected nurses to wear a professional looking white cap with the black stripe commemorating Florence Nightingale. Anyway, in the shoe section of the catalog where she bought her uniforms, there were some shoes with a conductive circle on the soles. I asked about this and the explanation was the anesthesiologists wore them to bleed off static charge because they work around a lot of oxygen, ether, and other potentially explosive gases and materials. A shoe with conductive sole might also be beneficial in an electronics manufacturing or servicing setting where you work with a lot of sensitive computer chips. Otherwise I'd have to be told why I might want a copper stud in my soles. You would not want to wear these shoes working around any live wires with high current because they could get you killed.

But now, they just ground the patient. And nobody uses Ether anymore.
@LarryMayvid
@LarryMayvid 20 сағат бұрын
The theory is that grounding lowers inflammation and oxidative stress by reducing free radicals in the body. Free radicals are missing an electron and will bond to or steal them from other molecules/atoms, which can be a very bad thing, so providing a supply of free electrons by grounding is supposed mediate or mitigate that imbalance. Some people wear shoes like that but most just spend a little time barefoot in the yard each day. Certainly not something safe to wear in all situations but fine if they understand that. It's also referred to as "earthing"

To those interested in why Cody is doing this: Grounding shoes/bed/etc. isn't for grounding protection or for protection against electricity. In theory, it's more so that the electricity in your own body has somewhere to go. Essentially, the theory is that, since we're electrical beings and our bodies move/work through electrical impulses, we don't want to have electrical impulses build up too much in the body, and that the body needs to be grounded (in a way that actually works, ie, foot to ground/dirt contact) in order to work better. There have been a few studies done on this, and apparently the positive effects of grounding your body is that muscles are able to relax better, there's less chances of bloodclots/infection, anxiety subsides, etc. In one study, 10 minutes of standing in dirt seemed to show that blood clots dissipate when this is done, and the body is grounded. Essentially it's not just wacko bullshit that he's doing, he's testing a few studies and trying to be more healthy. I know a lot of people on here just want to tear him down and make him seem crazy, but he's basing this on science and experimenting. To me, that's a good thing, and kind of inspiring, and not crazy, just informed and curious.

@@evanislost The video is not a joke at all. Do your research. The body needs to maintain a proper electrical voltage at specific parts of the body to maintain health.
