I found out how to shutdown the connection without having to disconnect the battery. Keep reading! So, bought the exact same reader and I'm disappointed that it doesn't give you access to live data, adaptations, customisations... All the good stuff I was used to with Obdeleven in my old Audi. This reader just gives basic information and allows you to clear the codes. It's very well built and looks very professional but at least with the F-type, it can't do much. How do you avoid having to disconnect the battery? If using this same reader, once you've completed diagnostics, return to the main menu. Start the car, shut down the reader. Once the display goes off, disconnect it from the obd port. Switch off the car. That's it! The hazard icon will go off 2 minutes after the car has been locked.

Great video, and perfect timing, i was sodding around with my idcore unit and had a handful of warning lights come on my dash as a result of my incompetence with the dip switches, so thought i’d do a scan, 2 days later and i get a low battery warning light i now know why !! did the battery reset and left the car running at idle for 15 mins battery still low i suppose that means i’ll have to take it out for a blast tomorrow to get a full charge !

Thank you for this emergency fix, but there should be a way to shut off the comp from the OBD scanner.

Okay but what else gets forgotten by disconnecting the battery? Time? Radio? Equaliser? Any other settings?

Is there no fix for this? Seems like a big oversight they would want to sort out. Maybe an aftermarket solution?
