What about the counter when you use a solider and use ZPG just before the Chomper swallows you and the ZPG hits the chomper while being swallowed? Also the most chomper have 175 health so you theoretically can't kill them with imp punt at full health but it still works..

The part I found most surprising is that all of the Engineer's abilities counter Chomper's Burrow.

Abilities like the barrel, cannot etc can be stopped using spikeweed.

CHOMPERS. To avoid these counters, use my tactic: THE REVERSAL. (Only weakness: imp punt and sonic mines) 1. Burrow to target 2. Charge head on, but don't chomp underground 3. Cancel the burrow, and either spikeweed or goop target quickly and immediately after you surface before they use their ability. 4. Yummy! (TIP: choose the last zombie or the most solitary.)

whenever i play as the chomper i know deadbeards will go in their barrel when i burrow so i trick them to think i will eat their barrel but in the last second i cancel the burrow and use spikeweed on their barrel

Do ways to get people as chompers, I will give you a head start. 1. When burrowin, if you get stunned, jump around the engineer, and when ur out of it goop and spikeweed. Doesn't always work.

Best way to counter chompers 1. Play All star if they burrow put a dummy down and imp punt into it and they'll get hit for 150 dmg cancelling the burrow and killing them unless its a amour chomper or they are running health upgrade 2. Use an engineer I like mechanic and use a stun grenade and shoot the chomper 3. Play foot solider and sit on a house 4. Play imp and bunny hop until they are out of burrow and gravity grenade them

I once had a chomper burrow me and for some reason i used my ZPG whilst being eaten and a survived. There's a small window during a chomp that you could use an ability. Take note

If imp, throw the grenade before it dig. 3. The kick for brainz is not that effective since if the chomper put trap, it will straggle the brainz....easy food.

As I was a chemist from garden warfare 1, when I saw a chomper burrowing, I decided to either use energy warp, jump and stand onto an elevated position.

I feel this video is a bit unlealistic. All these counters have been under ideal conditions. For example you as a player having all your abilities off cool downs. Also the lack of spike weeds and goops. You can still survive encounters when you're hit with those abilities. Maybe surving when you're trapped in a spikeweed or gooped is pure luck, or maybe it takes skill, who knows. Even so this video is still helpful for those that may not have thought of such tactics to survive encounters with chompers. 👍

I don't know if you know but when a chomper is about to burrow you can use the super brainz heroic kick or the all stars tackle to stop the chomper from going underground and get him from surprise

As the all star you can throw your imp at the ground as soon the chomper burrows you and you may get lucky and kill the chomper. Its also supper satisfying

A difficult way with the soldier is that when they burrow you launch your zpg and when they eat you you’ll launch it and it’ll kill them

if I'm a imp I just keep double jumping. also if there is a car near you jump on it. also, as a chomper for me what I do too a soilder is, use burrow but only burrow about half way ...they will probably use the rocket jump... then go backwards and he will probably be right next to you when he lands

Awsome! Other ways to counter a chomper with the All Star is to Tackle them right before they go underground. With the Imp to throw the gravity granade right before the go underground as well; that will leave them bitting dust. Lol! ZPG them right before they finish swallowing you, although this one is hard to get. Another way is with the Scientist; by throwing both sticky bombs right under you. That´ll give you a 100 shot and this will only work if the Chomper is under 100 of health.

I was just on a game of turf in Garden Warfare 2 on PS4 playing as AC Perry and two Count Chompulas wearing the exact same customization tried to troll people by burrowing and then standing still but I saw one of them underground and used Sonic Grenade and kill them, then I proceeded to taunt them as if I was trying to say “Nice Try” and then they proceeded to target me the rest of the game and T-bag me. Whoever those Chompers are, I never meant to be toxic to you. I know you were just trolling people but I am a part of the Chomper Police. And it is MY DUTY to kill every last Chomper.

The things where you get in something or on a turret will fail most of the time unless you wait until it gets near. If you do it to quick, they may spike weed you.

another way to counter a chomper with the foot soldier is use the Rocket Jump to go on top of a building and another counter for also the foot soldier is when they're about to reach you and eat you use your zpg and when they try to swallow you it's going to hit them with their zpg and they die

So while this is good video for basic burrow survival countering a more competent Chomper means you have to avoid everything in its kit. Say you were to rocket jump away as soldier. Unless you’re on high ground a Chomper could read this and either predict your landing and then enjoy a free meal or pop out then goop the area you land in and you’re toast. You need to play to his greatest weaknesses. Range, Groups, and his reliance on abilities to get the job done. Rather than jump over him to disorient him, jump away from him and run to any sort of safety whether it be small obstacles like cars, or best case, teammates. If none of those are around your best bet is to be ready for him to pop out and keep a good distance, jump around to throw off goops and hopefully avoid it’s splash radius and keep retreating while shooting to avoid a drive by spikeweed. Now this just for Soldier and while it’s definitely not foolproof it’s better than just jumping over him. As for others I’ll go in depth. For scientists you obviously have your warp which is your getaway option. You can have two so always save one for this scenario. Usually I find scientists to be safe with just warp/energy warp really, just find a teammate or some sort of terrain just try to avoid goop at all costs. when he expended both burrow and goop that’s your cue to attack. Also for all those attack scientists out there (and every class for that matter). If a Chomper has noticed you and runs around a corner DO NOT PURSUE IT. It most likely will be an ambush and will usually leave you dead even if the Chomper’s already at low health. Go in with a group, he probably won’t get away if you pursue him with a group. Imps have the luxury of a double jump and can generally avoid burrows with terrain and proper fake outs. They can’t, however, avoid the literal jaws of death if you’re gooped or in close quarters. Just keep a more mid-range game and you usually have the advantage ESPECIALLY with gravity grenade. Just know if you don’t kill a trapped Chomper and are stuck impkataing you’re probably gonna end up his next meal. Just shoot, you shouldn’t need impkata to kill him unless it’s an absolute last resort. I’m gonna put mechs separately as I feel I need to mention this. If you are gooped in a mech against a bite-type Chomper and aren’t already facing his general direction. You are either a dead, or extremely crippled mech. If you survive you’re probably going to have to discard it. Hard to avoid unless you’re cone/dragon but I thought it should be said regardless. All-stars have a pretty good defense against a burrowing Chomper. There is your basic escape with tackle, decoys can block burrow but the big one is a technique where you toss an imp punt at a wall or decoy at the last second and let it blow up the Chomper, saving your un-life. Just please if you’re going to tackle a Chomper just know unless you secure the kill with the tackle or quickly shoot him down while he’s still stunned from it you might die. Just be cautious going in. Also because you not only move slower but can’t jump while revved up its a lot harder to avoid goop. If you stay with a team it should be easier to get out of those situations. Pirates have it rough sadly. If you’re parroted up at all and a prowling Chomper sees you I send you my condolences. This should be common knowledge for everyone but just try to always stay hidden when doing that or near the general area of your current spawn just to avoid unfortunate deaths. Back to the topic at hand. Cannon and barrel are impervious to burrow but sadly not spikeweed. If you see a competent Chomper burrowing after you. He’s gonna spikeweed you. You’re gonna die. Barrel has it better since he can’t kill you unless he lands the spikeweed so don’t move towards him and avoid his placements and hope that you’ll explode before he lands one. If you’re cannoned up pray to whatever deity you believe in that he doesn’t know to spikeweed. And it should be an easy kill. Super Brainz can avoid burrows pretty easily with constant high jumps but know going in that you might get swallowed upon landing. I’d say put those heroic legs to work and get the heck out of there instead. Now if you do close the distance you’ll probably out damage him but please don’t get in his personal bubble that’s asking to get spikeweeded and swallowed. Try to stay close enough that your punches connect but juuuust far away enough to avoid those weeds upon placement. Goat has super speed and that’s it. Use it if you must but honestly you should be with your team when playing goat so you have that safety in numbers. You can hold the jump button to hover to ledges the Chomper can’t follow to on some maps though so that’s something to keep in mind. And finally the big bad engineer. Everyone who’s played this game knows that you’re the big counter to chompers. All three of his abilities counter burrow and he can stun him before he stuns you. And even if you trade you still have the luxury of shooting and that Chomper has to stand there and take it. Gatling can still be spikeweeded so be mindful of that, so can jackhammer but you’re too quick for that to hit you most of the time just don’t stay up in his face. Just know that some Chompers will actively listen for your grenade to go off so they know it’s safe to pursue you. In those situations find a teammate, my general flow of abilities you should use to avoid a chomper’s approach is grenade>jackhammer to safety>turret up as a last resort. Now just some general knowledge. When a Chomper burrows you’ll notice it initially leaves a dirt trail to signify he’s there. But if a Chomper stays still long enough the dirt goes away and there’s no possible way to know he’s there without seeing him first. This is what I like to call the Venus flytrap. Where a Chomper waits for you to wonder by without you knowing and eating you up. That’s one big reason why I say don’t follow a Chomper around a corner because he could be doing this and waiting for you to over-extend into his mouth. Now goop is annoying. If you’re hit by it from long range the Chomper’s teamates will clean you up and you’re most likely dead if if you’re hit by a close one. If he approaches you with a goop from the front, however, there is one technique I do that, while not foolproof, can help you out of that encounter. When a Chomper goops you they usually want to go for the eat. While it’s definitely not always necessary and I say “why didn’t you bite/spray him” you can use that desire against them by backing up while turning your back away from them, sorta like a strafe. If you continuously unload shots into them while doing this you may just be able to kill them before they kill you. Again ALWAYS STAY IN GROUPS even the game tells you to stick together and Chomper is a big reason why. While a Chomper in herbal assault might be perfectly content with running in the base to get a trade, most want to play passive and pick fights they can win without losing much health. Their job becomes much harder when you make them unable to approach without some galaxy brain play to get away unscathed. One last thing I can mention before I end this rant is always be listening. The Chomper grunts a lot while he walks and if you happen to hear that before he gets the jump on you it very well may save your un-life.
