I have learned a lot this year about the best ways of creating new flowerbeds, and I figured it would be helpful for all of you to show my process! There's a lot of mistakes that I have made, or decisions I have made they've created more maintenance for other beds, so I wanted to show how to prevent making the same mistakes.

Awesome job in properly planting a tree!! Hole 2-3 times width of pot, amend the soil as needed, plant it high and make a water well!! Mulch and water thoroughly!! 👍😃

@@JoshuasGarden It was also a great tutorial on how to create a flower bed, but I was even more impressed by your directions on how to plant a tree correctly, because I see so many gardeners online doing it wrong or teaching it wrong, and you did everything right with the most thorough explanations as to how and why! So that's why I said that, ha!

Nah rock is definitely worse. Removing sod requires the right tool and technique.

Get an electric edger for sod cutting, cut into squares. Cheap and easy.

Great video, I just planted a mango tree and planted it too deep, so I had to pull it out and start over.

You have some good soil. I always feel like im digging through concrete on my yard lol..just dry hard clay

That’s really tough to deal with, the worst thing I deal with is a lot of rocks, and some that can be a decent size

Here in the south, we have a lot of the clay soil and the Bermuda and crab grass that over takes everything. I spent “hours” to create a small (rather tiny) corner bed due to this. Basically had to “chip away” at the clay. It sounded like I was hitting concrete at times. 😩 I did it in that high humidity and hot summer weather too! 🤣 Life in the southeast.

The Bermuda grass in our backyard wouldn't take to your concept very well. If the rhizomes aren't completely removed or killed, the Bermuda will come back. Everywhere. Along with "soil" that is mainly limestone, those are the main reasons why our 70'x32' Bermuda lawn in the backyard remains (thanks, house builder!). Sadly.

You don't need it if you don't mind picking weeds up every 3 months.

There is no added benefit to fabric going under any other ground cover and is not needed if you are planning to cover the soil already with mulch, wood chips,rocks etc.

I can do all that but first how to get your grass up my grass has long roots! Also your ruining the bottom of your neighbors fence. Your planting too close to it .
