Beautiful upgrade! The mass planting makes that bed look cohesive and more in scale with your large yard. So smart to snag these, as you are correct; these are very hard to find! I've been on the hunt for Invincibelle Mini Mauvette or Garnetta, but so far have not found any locally.
@JoshuasGarden16 сағат бұрын
They are definitely tough to find, but maybe talk to someone at a local garden center and see if they can place an order! I do love the mass plantings, and I want to bulk up more of what I already have to add cohesion

What do you mean by "pettable" plants?

Silver mound is beautiful but it only sticks around for 3 to 4 years.

Hmmm u sure they are annual? I've had petunias for 2-3 years, same plant, and they are also self sowing!

I have one and love it!!! It tolerates the Alabama heat so well!!! And it has grown larger pretty fast. I love to bend down and pet it. It reminds me of my lambs ear as far as color and texture go.
@JoshuasGarden3 күн бұрын
I’m surprised you can grow it in Alabama! I remember the tag saying zones 3-7 so it seems like it can take the heat!

❤ the color of this plant! Mine is hollowing in the center and stretching a bit, so it may be getting too much shade. I'm going to move it to more of a sunny area

They are facing south and get full sun! Probably a good 10 hours during the summer

Thanks for the share - I was looking for some inspiration on what to lay below gravel for a terrace I'm building - I didn't want to use fabirc and I didn't have enough depth to put a base layer down so I used some sand in some of the less stable areas after seeing your video. It seems to have worked really well! Nice work

I can do all that but first how to get your grass up my grass has long roots! Also your ruining the bottom of your neighbors fence. Your planting too close to it .

Do you have to worry about removing 25% or more will weaken the tree?
@JoshuasGarden7 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t remove more than about 30% of the tree if you can help it, otherwise it may start to damage the tree

Watching weeding vids. Your hosta just need water to grow.
@JoshuasGarden7 күн бұрын
I definitely could try giving them more water, but we have gotten a lot of rain this spring. The other hostas look really good so this may be a less vigorous variety 🤷🏻♂️

Glad to see you back! Boy, that was a LOT of weeding! My knees and back hurt watching ya, LOL! (Bet the hottub comes in handy after all of that kind of weeding!) But overall, everything looks really nice and I look forward to seeing all the new things you're going to plant!

Nice to see your mom helping out. She probably was so happy to see you! All things considered, the garden looks pretty good! The redbud is gorgeous and I'm looking forward to seeing the Edge of Night Hibiscus bloom. I've also noticed bugs and pests have been bad this year, although I've yet to see any japanese beetles in my area, thankfully.

I have a fig tree in my yard that exploded this year. It’s like 15’ tall and about 6’ across the bottom. Not sure if it has a central “trunk,” so I don’t know how to trim it down to be more tree-shaped.
