How to create a Quilt pattern on your cake

In this tutorial Carol shows her easy method of how to create the quilt effect on your cake with only a few tools.
It is best to do the markings immediately after you have covered your cake

55cm...cake perimetre 3,5cm.... widht of one box 55/3,5 = 15,7....number of points on top, but its not a integer so you can choose: 1. 55/15 = 3,66cm box 15 points with 3,6cm distance 2. 55/16 = 3,43cm box 16 points with 3,4cm distance

Not only did you make a stunning cake, you made the process look so simple. Your fondant looks pillowy soft too. Do you use a layer of buttercream underneath?

Very nice indeed - however I think that 'Cake Queen Tanya's' KZfaq channel is a much quicker method, where the diamond squares are marked out on the fondant before she covers her cake - but well done.

You have to measure round the cake then divide it up to roughly the size you want
