Summary: There is 3 types of schedules : Everyday schedule : make sessions before school or work so you actually have the energy for it Or choose the time where your energy pick Open schedule: make a deadline for empty day so you go an actually study before the deadline you give yourself Dopamine thoery : when you have that days when you don't want to do anything you just have to do something you really hate then your dopamine pick and you will get motivated to do at least some work In this days you might not be doing as well but thats better then nothing

One tip I took from someone (maybe Huberman?) is to sleep. They said if you keep getting distracted or otherwise can't focus, just take a nap. This means that your whole time is spent choosing between sleep and study. I did that. 30-60 minute nap, then it's a 6 hour study sesh.

As a person with ADHD, it's a game of endurance and a game of subtraction. Subtract distractions, subtract distractions in environments at specific times. endurance being : If I wanted to say read a textbook for three hours, then Id have to spread my hours out especially when learning new concepts. Juggling ideas in my head is mentally exhausting.

Girl… same, i try to write down whatever idea I get immediately (because of that I have lots of sticky notes laying around😂 and lots of notes on every notebook I won) and I organise them weekly or whenever I feel a rush of motivation to do it. Also if you feel all over the place and lots of tasks in mind, declutter cuz its likely that you have something in mind that you don’t wanna forget or your plan has changed so create a checklist of everything so you can plan them later. No naming the checklist (or maybe name it decluttering checklist) and put everything in there. Then when you’re planning your week or day check it. 😂also mine never gets empty so don’t worry about it, most of the time it’s very small tasks

i have adhd too and i have a note pinned to my phone home screen for ideas for goals i'd like to achieve this year. i find, because i know i'll forget things, if i have a "really good idea" i don't want to stop thinking about it so i don't lose the idea and the motivation to achieve it. just writing it down clears that out of my head and also gives me a clear idea of the kind of person i'd like to be by next year. for example, i'd like to be the kind of person who donates blood and makes time for personal programming projects :)

@@nicolenkunzi4661 you gotta cut stuff out. Obese people have a condition where because their mothers ate lots of carbs while they were in the womb, their brains lack the ability to properly send a signal that tells them “I’m full, stop.” If being obese is to food control. Having ADHD is to dopamine control. Your sources of it need to be more pure. You CAN indulge in things like TikTok and KZfaq and video games , but it will basically ruin your life. Incidentally: it’s easier to abandon drug use for non habitual use with ADHD. Habitual use however?

Here is a handy tip as well: keep a journal and write down your vision and anti-vision. Your vision should be what you want out of life with those same answers you seek. Your anti-vision is what your life will look like if you do not change at all. That helps me when I am asking the universe for answers! :) Hope it helps!

For work/school days, the best time to self-study is in the morning when you have the most energy. For open schedule days, you need to create a specific deadline for yourself to avoid procrastination. For unexpected schedule days, do a dopamine hack to get a burst of motivation. The dopamine hack is to do something that you really hate, like taking a cold shower or doing push-ups. This will cause your dopamine levels to dip and then come back up, giving you a burst of motivation.

1. Make your schedule according to your energy levels 2. Set deadline to the task, this is called Parkinson's law, if you have more time to complete the task, you will procrastinate. 3. Maintain a good baseline level of dopamine, you scroll on phone because you wish to get dopamine hit. Doing nothing will still climb the dopamine, or do the things which you hate, exercising, cold shower, push-up, or push yourself to study 😂

Hello Tina, Great video. I could really resonate with the concept of energy management and time management...extra thumbs up for that. The dopamine theory that you discussed was a bit difficult for me to understand so I am going to rewatch that specific part of the video again. As a suggestion when you are explaining specific concepts in your video I feel it would be wise to tone down the background music that you use in the video as it distracts the viewer from what you are saying.

Also: Dopamine is a neurotransmitter, not a "specific part of your brain". I know that cause I have 2 conditions that both have "too much dopamine" and "too little dopamine." But each is associated with a diferent part of the brain.

I think someone needs to teach me this but in the opposite order because the only thing I get done all day is self studying whilst neglecting every other thing.

Its worrisome that now i don't even feel disappointed in myself after wasting my time.

You shouldn't. It doesn't get you anywhere. Just go and study , instead of being disappointed w/ yourself.

I love to study . When i am studying i feel calm , fulfilled and really happy. But i can never get myself to start studying. I end up being on social media which basically drains my energy out.

Another cool video. Now I want to knock on my doc's door and make him measure my dopamine baseline level. I sort of figured out deadlines do help.
